I saw comments on the TrekMovie thread insisting there were grey sideburns/temples visible in that poster image.

"Therefore... "

I'm not seeing it, myself.

Me neither. I mean, who the hell knows...it could very well be Gary Mitchell. But I didn't see any grey temples or sideburns in the poster and I'd like to think my vision is pretty good.

"Into darkness" stands with large and clear print, however "star trek" is small and opaque. Many people will not know it's star trek. Is this part of marketing?
It will be deliberate. It's designed in a way that you take in all the other visual aspects of the poster before registering "Star Trek". They're going for mass appeal omitting the old stereotypes. Good job.

Is that a bloody gash beneath Cumby's left shoulder, or a bit of snouldering debis between him and the camera?

I hope that isn't an ear, else it's the worst makeup in Trek history.

That's a crap low quality picture, his ears are perfectly fine and human.

Cool poster.

Though, writing the title that way makes the lack of a colon pretty pointless.

You're probably just not looking in the right places. I'm sure somewhere on the internet there is a forum full of DC fans bashing the hell out of the new poster.

Hey, we're on the internet.
Don't let facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory

Re: First Poster

Future Guy was a Romulan pissed off about his homeworld's destruction in 2387 and wanted to change the past to eliminate the Federation and Klingons as threats to his world and empire.

Pass it on.

Hmm... you'd think that the copying of such a popular idea wouldn't be so blatant. Still pretty cool though.
