Re: TOS Enterprise WIP
Two engine rooms in the engineering hull, staggered, to fit in a 947' ship. What was interesting about that thread is that the engine crew and Kirk in "The Immunity Syndrome" all were thrown towards the entrance of the room when the ship jerked forward. That would suggest that this particular room, with the EMM having a different console, was on the port side, with the entrance facing aft. For contrast, the bridge crew went to the back of the bridge in the same episode when accelerating forward. What that also means is that the engine room is going to get more crowded by these big rooms quicker than I had planned

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP
One day a walk through. Yes, definitely.@Mytran - This mockup was still for a 947' ship. I wanted to make some more tries at scaling the shuttlebay so I still go to the 947' version for quick mockups

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP
When you talk about "scaling" the shuttlebay do you simply mean about determining the scaled up size of the miniature as it appears on screen? Or is your intention to take the forced perspective and model extrapolate out the non-forced dimensions? Hope that came out right! |

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP
![]() I'm rebuilding the flight deck again and once done, I'll scale the external model that is already built to it (if necessary). Basically matching the openings up. Some of the constraints I'm operating on and/or changing are: 1. The exterior opening needs to match the interior opening size (scale) 2. I'm using the 21-22' shuttle length. 3. The Observation Deck in "The Conscience of the King" when I first modeled it, I "corrected" the walls to make it more parallel. I am changing it back to "as-seen" where it gets wider as it approaches the camera. This will change where I can place it but it also means it won't factor as much into the gap between the interior of the flight deck and the exterior of the ship. So some changes are coming

![]() Your setplan extrapolation talents with CGI are incredibly useful (not mention yielding fascinating results at times) Last edited by Mytran; December 7 2012 at 04:06 PM. |

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP
![]() So I slowly scaled the exterior hull until those bays fit. My current scaled ship is now: 330.58m or 1,084 feet. |

And if you're wondering, yes, the rails/elevator/turntable is not on the flight deck centerline.

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP
I'll look through some behind the scenes photo and see if that is the case there and I just didn't notice it as much the first time around. Last edited by blssdwlf; December 9 2012 at 06:04 PM. |
