amazing. I would have suspected the Dutch. I guess we germans rank quite low because over here all movies get not even subtitled but fully translated (including their titles), so that most people have never heard the original sound. In fact, I've never seen any Trek epi in the original. Hadn't I met some of the actors, I'd have no idea how they really sound. (which might be fortunate in some cases - Mr. Nimoy has a terribly strong accent)

Can't you choose the Originalton (hence my use of that particular word earlier) when watching them on a TV-set? I know you can't if you watch German TV via satellite, but I was under the impression that you could do it when receiving the signal from land based transmitters or cable...

no, unfortunately they hardly ever transmit 2 sound channels. Usually it's only the German one to save bandwidth

I like all the Trek series. Not sure which my favorite is, as I like aspects of each. Probably DS9 but haven't seen much beyond the first two seasons (but just found out that my local library has almost all the DS9 seasons, so party...), and I have fond memories of watching TNG when it was new. Anyway, glad to be here. *salute*

Naah, there's no secret handshake or the like (might be a bit difficult unless we invent a special smilie for it). And one welcome thread is generally sufficient.
It is good style, though, to also say hi in the lounge (which is imho the best part of the board).

Posting all over the board is not necessarily something bad. It's good for your postcount and promotion
