I'll raise you a 70's cop show intro and throw in different versions of it too. Your call! Killer car too.

I only got two pair: A pair of LARSONS and a pair of CANNELLS including two cars that make your "killer car" look stupid.

Wow. No one mentioned The 4400? That is one of the creepiest, most melancholy and totally RIGHT themes ever put together.

Oh, and Firefly. It just works for me.

X-Files and Friday the 13th: the series are my two top picks.

And for comedy, I'd go with the cheap-but-fitting MST3K.

And thanks for reminding me that I still need to finish watching Rideback and IGPX.

I've seen quite a few favorites named, but don't think we've had these yet.

(color version used from S.2 onward)

(I think there was an earlier version of this with the ARP synth using a bit airier timbre and not placed as far forward in the mix, but haven't found a clip with that one yet.)

Ok, I'm going to break the rules slightly and offer up this fan-version of the recent Thundercats series opening done as if they'd done a proper full opening, showcasing the fantastic animation. The audio is apparently from a Spanish dub, so there is an annoying Spanish overdub at the very end, but the rest of it is very well done:

For a "canon" TV opening, I'll offer the GI Joe opening from the season after the movie (which is the one did FOR the movie):

They just don't make 'em better than that!

There are a lot of great ones out there but I'd have to give it to either The Sopranos or Game of Thrones.
The Sopranos opening really sums up what the show was about: Tony, alone. That's how it started, and that's how it ended.

Gotta say no. Nothing about the new one beats the original, including the intro:

Now you're talking. Nothing like a cartoon where the characters fight an entire war just in the opening sequence.
