Way too many BSG/Caprica alumni. Having a "Hey, it's that guy/girl"-moment every five minutes takes me out of the narrative way too often.

Honestly, I can't get worked up over actor recycling since

1) Vancouver has a limited actor poole.
2) Actors are people who need work, just like anyone else. Should they be denied a chance to put food on the table just because they had another role on the same show/franchise at some other point?

Episode 5 sort of reminded me of Gun On Ice Planet Zero when the shuttle crashed in that episode.

With Episodes 5&6 (is there any reason at all they are pretending those are two seperate episodes at this point?) it's still very action focused and mostly good at pulling that end off (although some of the shots of them outside in the blizzard did not feel convincing). And I guess the cyborg snake thing is an early example of the kind of research that would eventually make humanoid cylons possible.... but also just fits with the action mode of this series, as with next week's preview showing them avoiding a Cylon. Cylons were creatures with ambiguous sometimes incoherent motives in BSG, the embodiment of a teenage girl's frustrations in Caprica, and now they are a relentless, faceless nemesis for our heroes.

well that cylon snake i dreaded so much came out less hoaky than i expected. though it was more of an eel really...

blood & chrome continues to grow on me, particularly that dog fight, and i'm looking forward to next week's encounter with those new centurions. but i still feel like this only works in small doses viewed on an iPad. happy this is a webseries and have no desire to see this as a full series.

Ah but back then we had the likes of Number Six and Leoben right from the miniseries. They had faces and even personalities, it was just their objectives and goals that were so opaque.

While it looks great on my computer (so long as I set it to 1080p), I think you're also right about the small doses. I know this was originally conceived as a pilot but it really feels like a web miniseries.

They're likely being released in five minute segments in order to optimize the number of viewers, since statistics show that the shorter video content is, the greater the percentage of viewers that will finish it. Releasing two five minute parts rather than one ten minute part also doubles the number of advertisements a viewer must watch (and the corresponding advertising revenue).

I keep forgetting about this each week, till about Friday evening where I'm like "hey I can watch the new Blood and Chrome ep!"

Great stuff, loving this so far. It looks to me like the full TV/dvd movie version will have slightly extended scenes or cutsm just in that how ep 5 went into ep 6, it wouldn't really work as is. Also it looked there was some more muffled/altered swearing in their argument outside the Raptor at the start of ep 6
