Considering the time period, Nucky may consider his cheating a given privilege and Margaret's an unforgivable act. It will be interesting to see just what happens.

Yeah, Margaret didn't cheat on her first husband (that we know of), Nucky had him killed in the first episode because he beat Margaret and killed their unborn child. Also, he was German, hence her having the surname Schroeder.

Anyone else get the feeling that Margaret will be drinking some sour milk in the next few weeks? Who would want to bring a child into Nucky's world?

As for Chalky, I joked after the first episode that the only reason he was on the show was that they wanted Omar in the cast, but that joke almost seems to be true. He's sadly underutilised, he rarely plays a part in the big main plot, and often shows up for one scene in an episode to justify being part of the cast. It makes some sense, being a black guy in that era forces him to live in a separate world from the rest of the cast, but it is disappointing.

We got some interesting insight into Chalky and his family earlier in the season but that storyline seems to have been abandoned even though it's still kind of unresolved. On the other hand, the main storyline is hard to beat as far as excitement and drama are concerned.

Yeah, definitely. Actually, I think she'll likely accept the doctor's offer of doing the class elsewhere. It will give her a chance to do some good while trying to endure her storm, a sort of cold comfort. Also, I'm guessing that she may ask him to perform a service if she doesn't want to keep the child. Currently, he seems to be the only person with an ear for her.

And I don't think it's so much that she's angry with Nucky's infidelities, but that she knows he has power and able to do anything he pleases to reach his ends, and that his power has finally reached her doorstep. Before, she'd keep a careful distance away from his activities, never wanting to become involved in them, and in a way he kept her safe from harm's way, but now for the first time, that brutal cold calculation has affected her personally, and now she's likely afraid for her own life and her children.

Also, I have to wonder if this series will go beyond the 3rd season. It almost feels like things are drawing to a close with so many people dying now.

The trailer looks great. I'm very curious what will happen. Looks like there'll be quite a dramatic ending.


The show has been renewed for a fourth season so at least Nucky will have to survive.

People were saying the same thing after Jimmy died in season 2. I think they approach each season finale as though it may be their last, the show is expensive to produce and doesn't get great ratings so there's always the chance that HBO will pull a Deadwood on it.

Good episode this evening. Nucky and Chalky look to be fast allies with a long history behind them. Eli and Al look like the cavalry at the end.

I'm wondering what Richard is planning to do with all the guns. I even wondered if he's contemplating some manner of suicide. Jillian is a fucked up bitch and little Tommy would probably be better off with Richard.

Not sure about Richard, but I have a feeling he's planning on killing Gillian for the way she's been treating him. But that'd be risky with Rosetti's gang in there, so maybe he's planning on clearing them out of there and escaping with Tommy.

I'm thinking Richard is going to be killing anyone who would pose a threat to Tommy next week. This would include anyone in Rosetti's crew (actual threat) running around AND Jillian (just 'cause he can). He's already proven to be a gifted assassin with an ironclad conscience, and I get the impression that he feels it is now high-time for a house-cleaning at many different levels.

Jillian really is a moron to antagonize Richard like that. Does she not understand what he's capable of, or is she just simply lost in denial of the reality of her own decrepit world that she can't see what's going on around her any more?

I think she's naive to think Richard wouldn't do anything to her, with what he's already done. What I don't really get is why she doing this to him, why she's so concerned in preventing him from finding someone he can love, like it affects her? It's not like she's ever been in love with him. They've certainly never showed any inkling of that.

She's never been portrayed as being very well wrapped, particularly when it came to her "interactions" with Jimmy in prior seasons. While I'm not a professional psychologist/psychiatrist, I suspect that she would be considered quite unstable by today's standards of mental health evaluation. She seems to be a bit jealous of Richard's new-found love, as she probably now believes her time is past to find someone of her own. That jealousy, combined with her established loony behavior, manifests itself in the kind of hateful babbling that she seems to now be prone to. She better keep that shit in check if she starts "servicing" Mr. Rosetti. One wrong word from that pie hole and she's liable to wind up having a belt tied around her neck and over a rafter. At least Richard has scruples. Gyp...not so much...

Ahh, you're very likely right. Still, that jealousy seems rather indirect in that what he does doesn't directly affect her. From what I've understood, the reason why she hasn't found anyone of her own is because she's always so busy running the place and always plotting. That's how I interpret it anyway. So, it seems very misplaced that she'd be jealous of him due to her own damned problems.
