Russians dump nuclear waste Arctic Ocean

Not sure whether this is news to anybody around here ... if it's old news, lock the thread. I am frankly horrified.

You must not have read the article then, because this all happened well prior to and soon after the fall of the Soviet Union and ended in the early 90s, presumably when they then revealed that it had been going on for decades. The Russians have disclosed the existence of the Kara Sea dumping to the Norwegians piecemeal since 1992, but due to incomplete records and excessive secrecy the full extent hasn't been known until this latest report.
