I know the fangirls drooling after Benedict Cumberbatch call themselves Cumberbitches. Which is damn cute.

Re: How fans are called?

I've seen some Supernatural fans called themselves "SuperFans."

Twilight fans are know as "Twihards" (or just "teenagers.")

Not a science fiction show, but fans of the show Cooper are known as "Copperheads"--which I thought was clever, given the historical context.

I know a few LOTR fans who call themselves "Ringers."

Streepers and Mirrenites rather obvious. Is there a collective noun for Dune fans? (and no, not Buggies, though that might work for Starship Troopers ).

I used to think that Whedoniac was a term you'd use for a fan of Joss Whedon, and then discovered I couldn't find any references to anyone other than myself using the term.

Considering Dune is another word for desert I suggest Deserters!

I've also heard 'Whovian' used many times. Seems a bit awkward though.
