Just wanted to drop in and point out that I just noticed two more screws in the 24th century... The security field generators on the holding cells in Odo's security complex have screws (they appear to have been painted over with white paint to match the frame of the door). You can see them clearly in the episode 3x13 "Life Support" in the scene where Odo is dragging Nog into jail for robbing the Tholian ambassador with Jake.

You can go back to arguing about how badly JJ ruined Star Trek now.

^^DS9 is a Cadassian built station and as such they use screws for wibbly-spacey reasons which make sense to aliens.

Now getting back to how Abrams ruined Star Trek...
