Sorry Danlav05, I must have missed that somehow. I've not been on here in years. I love it when someone or a group builds a set, I love the look so it'll be interesting to see what they've come up with.

Unfortunately our set ended up being most of a local councils bonfire.

Whoa welcome back! I know this is off topic, but what happened to your fanfilm? is it going to be released someplace?

they could always contact this person and see if his bridge is available?

The Defiant! So we know there's a Galaxy class bridge being restored, the article's dated 2009 I wonder if it's still in tact?

As I said, the Hyperion bridge shows what's physically doable on a lower budget. It'll be interesting to see how Renegades does sets. They said in a Trekzone interview they want to use the permenant 'derelict spaceship' set from OGAM

I don't remember a derelict spaceship from OGAM. Whereabouts in the film (time) does it appear?

I believe this is what you are talking about:

Star Fleet Renegades (Audio series)http://starfleetrenegades.com/Starfl...s/Welcome.html (Single episode Most recent discussion as of June 3, 2012 promises updates 'soon.' http://forums.hiddenfrontier.com/ind...howtopic=15571

Fan films won't affect the future of Star Trek.
Absolutely not true. TPTB attribute the return to the TOS Enterprise (JJ Trek) to the popularity they saw in TOS fan films.
Who are the powers that be you're referring to?

If you want to believe that Star Trek fan films had a small impact on Paramount's decision to launch a big screen reboot of the original characters, that strikes me as plausible. But if you want to believe that fan films were anything more than a minor reason for Paramount's decision to sink $150 million (plus prints and advertising) on a big screen reboot, that's crazy.

After the collapse of Rick Berman's version of the franchise, a reboot was a forgone conclusion. CBS certainly wasn't going to let one if its most lucrative properties go to waste. That said reboot chose to use the most popular characters in the franchise (i.e. Kirk, Spock, etc.) is hardly surprising, either.

Re: Star Trek: Renegades

I have no doubt that fanfilms played zero part in the Trek reboot. Paramount has a property that's made them tons of money in the past, and even though it was diminishing returns in the previous decade, they obviously understood its potential and when they saw a potentially good pairing with Abrams, they smartly went for it.

Agreed, and I would suggest that claims to the contrary on the part of people associated with the new film are saying so purely for PR purposes.

On the bright side, at least they are aware of fan films.

Well, since they said it privately, I'd disagree. But I'll leave it at that - people are going to believe what they choose to, despite what JJ and CBS has said to anyone.

We just cast J.G. Hertzler (Martok in DS9) as the main villain 'Borrada'.

We will get there, not worried about that.
You sound like a man with a plan! Just donations have slowed since a VERY fast start - contacts on standby?

I think if a goal is not reached then all the money your donators pledge does not go through to the production.
