Re: Best Place To Which You've Ever Traveled
![]() I loved it. It felt pretty different from what I had been seeing in Italy up until that point. We went there for the Museum of Archaeology, with hours and hours of train rides through the countryside to get there. Best part of the trip!

Re: Best Place To Which You've Ever Traveled
Quite a few of the attractions are closed from November to Easter, but there is still a lot left to see and do. And make sure to visit the Giardini Ravino, a privately owned botanical garden specializing in cactei - they have the best Torta Caprese (chocolate-almond cake) in all of Italy!

Re: Best Place To Which You've Ever Traveled
One of my favorite vacations was to Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. I took this trip by myself with the sole intention of escaping from reality for a few days. It was exactly what I wanted. Staying at a 5-star resort didn't hurt, either. I've never seen beaches so nice, or water that bright and clear. I would just walk along the beach for an hour here, an hour there. I also went scuba diving for the first time and got to see beautiful sea life.

Re: Best Place To Which You've Ever Traveled
I visited Moscow and Leningrad, as it was then, on a school trip in 1987. Looking back, the timing was interesting, as the USSR was more open to tourists by then but was still a communist country. We went in March, which baffled the hell out of our fellow Canadian students, as we were going to the only country that was colder than where we lived. My absolute favourite place is the Penwith region in the far southwest of England in the Duchy of Cornwall. My husband first took me there before we were married and I'd moved to England. The scenery in Penwith is incredible, and the sea is so blue. We don't normally go to Penzance (yes, as in Pirates of), but stick to the smaller villages and rural areas with its ancient stone circles and standing stones. I'm not much of a spiritual person, but there's something about the place that gets into your soul.

In the US, Yosemite has some amazing spots. Hike to the top of Nevada Falls and hang your feet over the edge into a 500 feet of space.

Re: Best Place To Which You've Ever Traveled
Another place I love is a family camp I go to every year next to Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks. It's a private lake, and just the environment is great, especially watching the sun come up over the trees. Another place, which I regret not going to as much as I should, is way northern California, such as Shasta, Eureka, Clear Lake, that area. I drove by there on 101 once and hopefully one day I can go back.

![]() Personally I've never been in the Campania region, but most people who went there agree that Ischia (with Capri and Procida) are really jewels in the Gulf of Naples.
