A Beautiful Vulcan in the Captain's Chair (Pinup Illustration)
![]() I've been creating pinup art for a few years now, so it was only a matter of time before I did one featuring that sexy, if impractical, female uniform from the Original Series. When deciding on a model for my pinup, I considered Janice Rand (Grace Lee Whitney) and Uhura (Nichelle Nichols). In the end, I decided I wanted a Vulcan. Since we didn't meet any other Starfleet Vulcans, much less female ones, in the original series, I created my own. This entire scene was created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The background looks rendered, but it was all created from scratch. I admit I did use a Sketchup bridge model to aide in the layout. I also created a timelapse film showing most of the creation of the illustration. That can be found here: http://jetpackjason.com/2012/11/17/s...imelapse-film/ Jason Snyder jetpackjason.com Last edited by addendum; November 18 2012 at 06:03 AM. Reason: Adding my signature. |
