Well Sherlocke did not convince me, in fact I found looking at him uhh.. kind of unbearable.

But yes, I am always open to being convinced that someone is hot. Even someone I thought of as the anti-hot. My preference would be to be able to see EVERYONE as hot and though I think I come close some days there are always surprising folk who don't make the grade.

Is it possible we'll see Kirk getting slapped around the face with Cumberbatch's instrument?

I suspect we'll see Cumberbatch's use of his instrument in some sort of wrestling scene in the Federation's only baby oil producing facility before Kirk gets the scene ending money shot; Spock appears behind Kirk and gives a gravely injured Kirk some mouth to mouth resuscitation before taking him back to the big E where, after Kirk recovers, they discuss the matter playing 3D chess in the onboard bar, The Blue Oyster.

Cumberbatch's instrument becomes revered across the Alpha Quadrant and the final scene is some hand to hand combat, with Spock, with Cumberbatch deploying his instrument at Uranus......

Same here, but it's just one movie and there are plenty of guys who are much prettier in it. You can always cross your eyes or squint when Cumberbund gets a closeup to lessen the trauma.
