I fear I lost the ability to get excited about this movie when the news of a new Star Wars movie in 2015 broke. I guess I'll have to hand in my Trekkie card.

I can't really get excited about a new SW movie. And my excitement for STID is tempered by not knowing who the villain is. I definitely do NOT want to see Khan being done again, especially by someone who bears no physical resemblance to the character.

My excitement for the new Star Wars movie isn't because I'm expecting a great movie but because my son will be 5 in 2015 and I'll get to take him to his first Star Wars movie at the cinema. I'm looking forward to Star Trek Into Darkness next year, but I'm looking forward to that more.

^^My main interest in SW 7 (thru 9) would be to see if they can fix what they broke (although Revenge of the Sith wasn't awful).

Abrams is a sneaky sucker. I read the Hobbit in high school, didn't really like it (never found that kind of fantasy interesting), so maybe this will be enough to get me in the theaters!

Can't wait to see the trailer and (maybe) the nine minutes.
