It's really hard for me to limit it to just five. So I have two top 5 lists: one for kids' shows and one for the rest.

Top 5 - Kids' shows:

4. Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego

Top 5 - Everything else:
1. The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson

Fat Albert has the greatest theme song of any cartoon as far as I'm concerned.

No offense to people who like the song but that made my ears bleed, it's really bad and they used the same song for the first three seasons? The original version had awesome music but I prefer the german adaptations of the songs, I prefer the german singer's voice.

This doesn't have any lyrics (so far as I'm aware) but it's funktastic. The first 14 seconds are pretty sweet, as is the whole theme really.

Far Out Space Nuts by the Kroffts had a pretty sweet opening theme song. The show itself was dumber than Bob Denver's socks but had great music and pretty good effects for a mid-70's Saturday morning kids' program.
