One tiny nitpick. They had the wrong uniforms on. They should have been wearing the "callback" uniforms established in the Razor flashbacks, not the ones that would be used when the Colonies fell.
The uniform issue was already messy anyway. Caprica's pilot featured military officers wearing the uniforms from nuBSG series, not the original series resembling outfits from the Razor flashbacks. At least the Viper pilots seen in B&C are wearing the same flight suits as the one young Adama wore in Razor.
Didn't know that...haven't seen Caprica

Don't worry, Deanna Troi isn't driving Galactica
Good grief! Are we ever to be rid of this meme? It wasn't her fault. The emp/shockwave from the core breach knocked the helm controls offline.

ETA* I was just re-watching part one and caught an audio "Easter Egg"/callback. In the CIC, if you listen to the background chatter you can hear the Comm officer communicating with the "Celestra", which was a fleet electronics ship in the old show.

That would be the Galactica-E...

Give it enough time and Deanna will be driving this thread, too.

Saw Web Eps. 1 & 2 - IMO - this is the reboot they should have made in 2003. I'm actually sad they won't be taking this to TV series by all accounts.

No the reboot was perfect - this is what Caprica should've been.

Saw the first couple "episodes" of this. Not bad, but not much to comment on.

I dislike the absolutely excessive use of lens flare and general distortion of the images. I get that that's inevitable because this is a CGI show, but damn, they could at least try not to make it look so cheap and artificial.

The external CG shots were great, it's just the interior CG shots with people in the foreground that look ridiculous.

Curious where the story is going. They've got a nice little mystery set up.

True.

This isn't half the show that nuBSG was, even in the first twenty minutes. It's good, though.

I just like being in the same universe. I'm hoping they tone down the sky jock attitude on Adama's part.

Well, let me clarify; Caprica was fine for what it tried to be, but it's not what I would've wanted for a prequel to an action series.

I would've preferred a first Cylon war story. It doesn't have to be all action and space battles all the time, but some threat other than petty family squabbling and teenage-angst-in-a-robots-body.

Hell the first season could've been a build up to the war.

Don't worry, when he's holding the splattered remains of Cocker's brain in his hands at the end of the movie, he'll become the cool and calculating Adama we all know and love.

I'm curious how different the "Unrated DVD version" will be. I'm assuming the sound effects covering up the swearing will be gone. I'm wonder if anything else will be different? They did include some nudity and stuff like that in The Plan and the Caprica pilot, so they apparently aren't afraid to go towards more R-rated material in the DVDs.
