Kylie Minogue: Babe of the week #46 (Nov. 2012)

Kylie Minogue
(Holy Motors, Moulin Rouge, Street Fighter)
Thumbs up= Thumbs down= Thumbs sideways=

Kylie Ann Minogue was born in Melbourne, Australia, the eldest of three children. Her sister Dannii Minogue is a pop singer. Kylie was known as a child actor in Australian soap operas at the age of 11, and claimed her fame through a role as Charlene in the 1985 Australian soap "Neighbors." Starting her singing career purely by accident when a record company executive heard her performance of Eva in Little Eva's 1962 hit "The Loco-Motion," Kylie signed a record deal with Mushroom Records in 1987, under which she released and retitled her 1st single "Locomotion". It was at number one on the Australian chart for seven weeks, making it as the year's highest selling single in the country.
Holy Motors: Join Monsieur Oscar on his rollicking, soulful journey by limousine through the streets of Paris as he transforms into multiple characters for a series of mysterious "appointments." Melding monster movie, film noir, romantic drama, musical, crime thriller and anime, Léos Carax’s mirthful, mind-bending masterwork is a ravishing fever dream of becoming, unraveling and starting all over again.

I've respected her for years, particularly her actions as she fought to beat breast cancer. She's very strong, very brave, and that is something to admire.

All the plastic surgery and fillers have left her with a face like a flatscreen TV.

She's not got a lot of range, but she's taken what she has and worked it really hard, and she's now a very skilled performer. And I've always admired her attitude. And anyone who has her backing dancers wear Cybermen headpieces is finer by me!

That said, you faild to add two iconic images. One, her white dress in 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head', in which you're really hoping she'll fall out of at any second... but she never does; areal tease, sexy as hell. That video has a real SF vibe to it as well. And two, her hot pants in 'Spinning Around'... (at this point of the proceedings, he runs out of superlatives).

Aside from that, she has one of my favourite video clips ever, 'Come Into My World', which is amazing and clever and funny at the same time. I am in awe of it.

All are available on YT. You're welcome.

Amusing story (well, maybe): a friend of mine named his daughter Kylie when she was born, at the height of Minogue's 80s popularity. My friend loved Minogue's music and her initial wholesome appeal. Then she went all rock chick and sexy, and my friend was moaning "I named my daughter after a slut!!" for weeks!.

She's attractive and has a long versatile career. What's not to like?

Here's the video for "Can't Get You Out Of My Head"...

Haven't heard it in a while. I like the tune and she really knows how to sex it up. I listened to the video in the original post. It was nice to hear an orchestral version.

And here's "Spinning Around"...

'Even better' is all I have to say.

Aside from that, she has one of my favourite video clips ever, 'Come Into My World', which is amazing and clever and funny at the same time. I am in awe of it.
I just saw this video for the first time and I was impressed. It has her walking through town in one continuous shot and it has a few other surprises. It's well worth the watch. Check it out.

Can't have this thread without including a few shots from 1994's Street Fighter.

I think that was the first time I heard of her.

And one more...

She's always been very fit.

I adore this woman. She's beautiful and sexy, she sings well, she has a sweet and charming public personality, and she knows how to put on a show. Plus, any entertainer who has a big gay following must be doing something right!

I can't understand why she's never reached the level of popularity in the U.S. that she has in Europe and her native Australia. Well, it's America's loss.

Multiple Kylies appear in many of her videos. Maybe she's secretly been cloned!

Always think of her as the girl who did the cover of "The Locomotion" back in the 80s. She's aged so very well.

My favorite of her looks:
