Marmite or Vegemite?

This made me laugh:
U.S. President Barack Obama, in response to a question in March 2011 during a joint visit with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard to a high school in Virginia, gave his impression of Vegemite by stating "It’s horrible" and, following a description by Ms. Gillard, summarised it with "So it's like a quasi-vegetable by-product paste that you smear on your toast for breakfast – sounds good, doesn't it?".

And plum yoghurt? wtf?

So there is no more plum yogurt in the UK?

I eat any mite, Vegemite is my preferred one. I have enjoyed the NZ Marmite but the factory was destroyed in the earthquake and it's been unavailable ever since

Last night, my 4-year-old was pulling out some old story books (printed ~1938) for us to "play" with, by having me open them up and pretend to read for his parade. (Don't ask - 4yo logic.) Anyway, as I was flipping through one of the ones he handed me some old photos started falling out. Eventually I came across a couple dozen of these, which by my guess were taken in the 1920s or 1930s. Some were degraded badly, but many were in pretty good shape. Of all the pics, the only one that I know who is in them is the upper left one in the first pic below - that's my maternal grandparents. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 99, she passed away many years earlier. Because of that one pic, I'm guessing the rest are also family, but I don't know who they are yet.

Oh sure, there are a few who might be able to help. It's just a matter of getting the pictures to the right people. I've sent them to my parents as well as posted them on Facebook, so hopefully it's just a matter of time now.

It's our family dog, a black Pomeranian named Nemo. He's like the character Monk in dog form. I miss him so much.
