Re: The Morning After by truespock...
Truespock, you should be ashamed of yourself. Not for writing the piece (however despicable it may be, never mind that it is anathema to the origin of and whole point of what Star Trek is supposed to be about) but ashamed because you are so utterly incapable of defending your words without resorting to petty insults and bickering. I would genuinely be interested in hearing your reasons for not only writing this piece but also why you think writing something like "Legitimately gay" is the kind of thing that shouldn't elicit the kind of controversy it has. In short - what was going on in your head when you wrote this thing?

Re: The Morning After by truespock...
These are not attacks. These are questions. Perhaps I shouldn't have been so blunt with my disgust over your story. Perhaps I should. I don't know. All I know is I am genuinely trying to engage you in a legitimate discussion right now. I'm open to hearing your motivations in writing this piece, because as it stands I don't really think much of it. As the writer, I would think you would want to collect as many supporters of your work as possible, and part of that involves what i like to call "creative negotiation" - in simpler terms, convince me why I'm wrong to dislike your story.

Re: The Morning After by truespock...
To answer your question (pointless as it obviously is to continue to respond to this malicious idiocy on the part of several of you), I originally posted this pair of stories on a Trek site that was being overrun with a barrage of terribly graphic and discomforting slash pieces by ONE PERSON, who apparently just got a kick out of rubbing the rest of our faces in it. My stories seemed, at the time AND now, to be a creative means to express the more traditional viewpoint. I've intended no 'basis in hate' and tend to think that I have understood the message of tolerance inherent in Star Trek (certainly NOT something which I am seeing any hint of in THIS group's responses to me!) at least as well as any of the rest of you do. I considered my stories to be a gentle, non-confrontational notice to the gleeful slasher in question that perhaps she might do well to seek out a more appropriate venue for what many of the rest of us viewed as simple and offensive pornography. Ironically (NOT!), my position on this subject is IDENTICAL to what I said about 'Elementary"...which ALSO caused an inordinate number of you to crap your cyber-pants on the spot: I AM INTERESTED ONLY IN THE INTEGRITY OF THE ORIGINAL, WELL-ESTABLISHED, ICONIC CHARACTERS! YOU THINK THAT'S SOME KIND OF CRIME?!...SO SUE ME!!! Last edited by truespock; November 7 2012 at 02:30 AM. |

Re: The Morning After by truespock...
Perhaps those of you who are familiar with my postings on Trekspace will belatedly remember the pages and pages I devoted to the support of the intrinsic right of people to read / write / enjoy K / S slash as much as they liked?! In fact, that support was mainly directed at THE VERY SAME INDIVIDUAL who, I believe, later so abused that support. Still feel like lynching me?! |

And no one is trying to lynch you. Please be less melodramatic.
