Where was that death originally mentioned?
In the personnel file shown in "In a Mirror Darkly". I have found this via google:

Actually, that graphic never made it to the screen. Only three of the five made did.

It was still vaguely referenced in Collision Course (IIRC, she was an unnamed "kindly old Asian woman" teen Kirk knew on Tarsus IV)

Sounds like an exciting project Chris I am looking forward to reading what I hope is the first of many books. You did a great job of summing up the four seasons of ENT in your blog(spot on). You give many of us great comfort to know we have a dedicated author at the helm for this largley unexplored time period. Best of luck writing the book, looking forward to July 2013

This sounds like it could be an interesting read.

I shall not be reading it though.

Okay?
And?

You failed to quote the part where I said it could be an interesting read.

I personally have no interest in the time period that Chris is writing about so yes, I shall not be reading this.

The project has potential.
And, given Christopher's proven track record, it may turn out quite well. I'm looking forward to a trek lit line exploring this highly interesting period in federation history.

The war is over, Enterprise herself is in mothballs
Is there actually a reason for the NX-01 to be in mothballs? Considering Starfleet's losses during the Romulan War and that it still seems to be a functional ship, albeit battle damaged.

NCC-1701 is suppose to be the first Federation ship to have the name Enterprise.

To Brave the Storm indicated that the ship was too badly damaged in the Battle of Cheron to be repairable. As for why they couldn't rebuild it... well, maybe there are reasons for that. All we know is that, as BillJ said, there is no Federation ship named Enterprise until NCC-1701.

Glad to hear it! After seeing previews of Federation: The First 150 Years make no mention of anything from the Kelvin era, I was starting to wonder if the novelverse was going to ignore it too.
Well, of course I can't actually have the characters say "Hey, this looks like a step toward the uniforms we'll be wearing 70 years from now!".
Sure you could. Temporal Cold War.

Honestly though, I'm not against there being an Enterprise between NX-01 and NCC-1701. Seems odd that the name would lay dormant for roughly eighty-five years.

There was Captain Geoffrey Thorpe's USS Enterprise from Harve Bennett's unmade prequel movie, Star Trek: The Academy Years.
