Polly Walker, a thread of adoration
I was smitten in the first scene and remained smitten through the whole of Caprica. Polly Walker is one of the most gorgeous women I have ever seen. If I was going into V- World and had to create an avatar that looked different from me I would re-create myself to look like Polly Walker. I say this in all seriousness, she embodies a sharp eyed sensuous beauty I would envy if I was given to such things. Clarice Willow is also angry, dangerous and naive.. what a package. Alas I will never look like Polly Walker but I might someday have her as my avatar. Yes I actually found someone who could tear me away from Janeway. I knew I had seen her before but I kept myself from looking her up while watching the series.. and now have found out that she played Raana on Sanctuary a character I was also instantly smitten with. She had great subtext with Amanda Tapping's character too, quite overt. ![]() ![]() ![]() See the adorable dent she has in her cheek.. ![]() And Polly Walker with Amanda Tapping in Sanctuary:

Re: Polly Walker, a thread of adoration
Though Clarice did get on my nerves once or twice, I really enjoyed her characters in both shows, for the most part. *My original reply was longer, but, it got eaten

You get to see... quite a bit more of her in that.

Re: Polly Walker, a thread of adoration
In non-genre work, besides Rome, she was a main character in the UK State of Play, sexy but not too bright. But I first noticed her in a thriller with Alan Rickman called Dark Harbor, where she was sexy, adulterous but not too bright. Atia of course was sexy, magnificently bitchy but not too bright. I can't say I liked her performance as Clarice because, although she delivered the sexy, willful but not too bright persona she seems to be cast for, the character needed to be bright. Beautiful woman, sexier than most twenty year olds.

She's worth it. Beautiful, strong, wonderful.

Re: Polly Walker, a thread of adoration
I loved Clarice. She made Caprica for me, made it worth spending $60 for the French Blu-Ray to see her in glorious 1080p. There's something about the polamory and messiah complex that drives me crazy. |

Re: Polly Walker, a thread of adoration
Frankly, I think the BSG writers cast her because they were jealous that Rome won Emmys that BSG was nominated for.
