Re: WOLVERINE director search down to 8

Remember Fox did talk about wanting more cohesiveness amongst their X-Men films...actually I believe it was Singer who stated this when it was first announced that "Days of Future Past" was going to be First Class 2's title. So making "The Wolverine" a "sequel" of sorts makes sense with that regard.

Story wise though and everything else I see no reason to be "worried". If it references "The Last Stand" it's not that much of a big deal. Mangold did say that the script re-write that occurred affected 80 percent of McQuarrie's script. I'm guessing this is what it affected now. As long as the bulk of the original story is intact I'm not worried one bit.

Based on what they said, I don't see the events of TLS playing that big of a role in the actual story. At this point I'm thinking it's probably just going to be the motivation for Wolverine being alone, and once he gets into the main plot of the movie it won't be that important.

I like the approach of a sequel rather than a prequel much more. It frees up the story and doesn't tie Mangold down to any previous continuity if he doesn't want to.

First teaser poster for "The Wolverine". Off to a better start than the "First Class" posters IMO.

With Singer around, I'll not panic or anything, yet, but unless this is deliberately building to FC2, I fail to see how setting it after X3 is any kind of plus.
Kitty Pryde, specifically Ellen Page as?

I'm all for cute gals in leather bodysuits, but I doubt we'll be seeing many X-uniforms even with the time shift...

Singer won't have anything to do with the next Wolverine movie, guys.

He is going to be busy with the FC sequel.

Re: WOLVERINE director search down to 8

I don't think anyone has suggested that Singer will have involvement with "The Wolverine" Dream. We were discussing the announcement from Mangold that the movie will be a sequel, and the possibilities that could arise from this. Not if Singer will be involved.

You know, I'd be up for them ditching the uniform if they want...

The new poster is fantastic.

Mangold and Jackman had a webchat last night, anyone listen to it? I'm sure the transcript is easily accessible but I'm too lazy!
