"Stark-inium"

According to "Fury's Big Week", Stark was calling the stuff "Badassium", but was running into difficulties with the patent office.

Guess Pepper never wondered why those contractors were coming in and out of his basement to dig the hole for the suit-donning device.
He built the Mark 2 in about 11 days. Hardly enough time for contractors to do the work.

We've seen that he has robotic factory arms.

Deleted scene

The suit donning thing might have already been in his garage/assembly line.

Lol, something like that. And I'm sure the Tony Stark ego would love it.

How in any way is The Mandarin as depicted in this trailer reminiscent of Bane?

Genre fans need bigger imaginations.

I can kinda see it, in a very general way based on tone.

It's kinda funny that the greatest weapons technology supplier in the world and inventor of the Iron Man suit has no defense mechanisms at his house that would shoot down armed helicopters.

The helicopters are posing as News choppers

Stark probably thought they were paparazzi

Iron Man is his defense.

Otherwise,

Private Citizen:
"Can I have a AAA missile emplacement on my roof?"

US Gov't:
"lol no."

Does he have a pemit for the suit? Its more lethal then a tank and people cannot own tanks and use them.

This scene actually reminds me of the scene where Gary Busey shoots Danny Glover's former friend and source from a helicopter in Lethal Weapon, written by Shane Black. Admittedly, it wouldn't have occurred to me but for the Black connection.

Actually, you can own a tank and use it, provided you fill out the paperwork and pass a few tests and background checks. If I recall correctly, in one state, the difference between a permit for tank that has it's muzzle de-bored and a live-fire muzzle is around $50.

Also, this issue was given far too little time in IM2.

It seems to me that as a top US weapons manufacturer Stark would already have all the permits. I think he'd have to, just to be able to conduct his business.

The issue in IM2 was more along the lines of does he have the right to refuse to give his creation to the US Government.
