Sorry for OT, however did you see Kate Mulgrew's new hair style?

This hairstyle is, let me put it this way, sort of an acquired taste.

What do you think??

Love it. A real don't-give-a-fuck cut. Looks like someone used sheep shears.

Re: Janeway's locks...short or long?

I feel like this is my eventual fate.

This is what happens when your hair gets thin and you are sick of spending a fortune and way too much time in the bathroom pumping it up every day and you don't want to turn into one of those frosted helmet heads so you go PURPLE or BURGUNDY and SHORT and you let everyone know that you intended it to look like you stuck your head under a hand dryer, this is your new look and you are cool thank you very much.

If she was an Australian she'd also be getting a tattoo right about this time in her life.

Now someone is going to smack me one for possibly being critical of Kate's cosmetic choices and go ahead, smack me, I deserve it. When I saw her at the con a couple years ago her hair looked GORGEOUS but also like a lot of work so I'm sure she is having a blast with this new look.

Re: Janeway's locks...short or long?

The only reason hair matters to you is probably because you make love with the lights on.

That and certainly of course because women need a larger run up before they leap into an affair.

But mostly the first.

Even when the lights are on, men shut their eyes.

Splash back is a more realistic fear but it's more about the terror of accidentally crawling back into a womb.

This wouldn't be an issue if men could ask directions without losing face.

Gosh.

It's like I'm giving away all the boys club secrets.

Re: Janeway's locks...short or long?

Actually that is the only time hair doesn't matter because it's supposed to be messy and wild or at the very least not coiffed. Uncoiffed is at it's best in the bedroom.

Some people say women dress and do their hair for other women, because men notice nothing.

Re: Janeway's locks...short or long?

We notice once.

Take a mental snapshot and rarely update it.

I had a girl once whinge to me "You don't see me for who I am now, you still see me from two years ago."

The ridiculous thing is she was complaining that I wasn't complaining that she had gained weight because she was deeply self concious about the size of her bottom.

Re: Janeway's locks...short or long?

That's a good point, the other side of the coin to haircuts not being noticed is other undesirable changes not being noticed. If you are lucky. Some people only notice the negatives and are oblivious to their partner's cosmetic efforts.

I don't mind the eating, as long as they aren't picky.

I don't mind the sleeping as long as you can wake 'em up when you have need of them.

I can't even remember what sports looks like.

Maybe it's not a choice?

She could have lost a bet?
