Re: STO: TrekBBS Armada and House of TrekBBS - Fleet discussion and FA
It's not BAD, and easy enough to get, but just not sure it's worth the outlay. Borg, MACO, and Omega are all better if you can run the STFs (Borg set can be had easily, just 15 EDC now, and you can get 4 at a whack by running the wednesday STF bonus). The Dominion set (from the FE) is probably the best of the easy/free ones right now at Mk XI. Breen isn't worth it, but easy enough to collect, probably a decent set to grind on as you level up, although you'd have to KEEP doing it, as it's another one that sets itself at the level you are when you pick it up.

Is there a set that you can get as early as mid levels anymore? Edit: That assumes you are not already Vice Admiral when entering Romulan Space... |

Re: STO: TrekBBS Armada and House of TrekBBS - Fleet discussion and FA
Since you can skip missions at will, you can do them whenever you want anyway, and it'll just be at that level. Of course, means that you have to KEEP running those sets of missions if you want to level them up, you don't get one set you can use forever. Conversely, I was trying to get my KDF character the Borg set before it got harder to achieve (so was running a few STFs to get it quick), and realized I didn't have the console. Of course, she's been a Lvl 50 for a year at least. Dug around and found the mission that awards it to you. The problem? She'd never been to Borg space. Or Breen space. Or Cardassian space. Got Lvl 50 on that character by just playing the KDF-unique missions and then running DOFF missions, I had to skip like 35-40 missions to be allowed to run the Borg one I wanted. But you can do it, just keep skipping until you get what you need...

common unreplicatable I only need 3 of those uncommon unreplicatable material I have 0 - hard to get Interesting, Aegis set is only a Mark X? How surprising... perhaps I should bother then... I have the maco, omega sets. Guess there is no need to go less powerful...

Re: STO: TrekBBS Armada and House of TrekBBS - Fleet discussion and FA
Second Wave has a minimum level requirement of 45 and Cold Call 48. That used to be different, but at least since free to play the FEs have been level gated. of course these days you really reach VS long before you get to these missions. And you can't skip everything either without a minimum level. The "gateway" short missions into new sctor blocks can't be skipped if under level. |

Re: STO: TrekBBS Armada and House of TrekBBS - Fleet discussion and FA
Having gone on about EDC for the Borg engines, it seems the Fleet Advanced set also boosts Sector Space speed... Quick question, Spdx3 or Turnx3 better for a Sci ship? Oddly, the turn rate seems to be 16 on both, but I assume that would change once slotted? ETA: Normal, I guess, from the single EDC reward and a sphere guarding the gate rather than a cube.
