Enterprise References in new STAR TREK book, FEDERATION

I saw this video for the STAR TREK: FEDERATION book out later this year, and screencaptured a couple of interesting Enterprise-era pictures!

Somekind of mural painting about Archer's (unheard) speech from "These are the Voyages...", which presumably involved gazelles too...



Hopefully they'll be lots of background detail on the direction, lost seasons of this show might've taken.

I've heard of this book, and look forward to it's release. Although I probably won't be able to afford it.

It will be interesting to see if the book merely repeats previously published non-canon information, or if the book authors will strike out on their own, with their own visions and interpretations of established canon information.

There's a lot of tech manuals, novels, and such out there. How independent will this be?

That's great! I always regret not bidding on this jacket... (I kept a screengrab ever since) used in the feature-length pilot and only one episode after. I always thought they were cooler than the Away Team jackets that were later switched to. Looks a bit grey in reality, rather than blue. So maybe it was the lighting.

David A Goodman was at one time a producer on Enterprise and wrote "Judgment". The book is authored by him. But you're right, canon is essentially what made it to screen, or what can be reasonably extrapolated from the references error-free. Doesn't matter to me, since sadly there isn't much alternate when it comes to filling in the blanks between ENT and TOS. Unless something crops up in the current movie-series, assuming they don't have to backtrack on the policy it shares the same universe, before Nero arrived.

It kind of irks me that the human standing behind the Tellarite (is that supposed to be Gral?) appears to be wearing a Starfleet uniform, rather than civilian garb. Still a cool painting, though.

The lines on the shoulder area resemble those seen on Starfleet uniforms, and Starfleet admirals' uniforms featured a white shirt and a black (or dark blue, can't remember now) tie. I could be wrong, of course.

Looks like some kind of Starfleet uniform to me as well, but with a yellow command stripe rather than the red and white that Forrest had.

Too bad there can never be a Star Trek series set during the Romulan War. Must be a way of making that whole scenario compelling TV.

I'd love for this book to detail the ships, unforms and characters of the pre-TOS USS Kelvin era seen at the start of STXI. But I suspect it won't - anything to do with the new movie series would have been front and centre of the advertising.

Why can there never be a TV series set during the Romulan War? Sure, Enterprise didn't get rewritten in the new continuity like all the other series, but what's to say that someone won't produce a TV series in the future that leads into the Original TOS, but erasing Enterprise instead.

It's not particularly likely that they'd make something Star Trek that ignored the most financially sucessful Trek movie of them all. That would be bad buisness.

Well, with all that was said in the 2009 movie, aside from mentioning "Admiral Archer" and his dog, who we don't even know if they were referring to Jonathan Archer or another Archer altogether, there was very little to indicate that Enterprise came before the movie.
