Re: What do want to see from a new series

I had a few thoughts about this today. I think it would be interesting to see shorter seasons overall...something like a max of 13 episodes. Each season would focus on one specific mission, like responding to a crisis at a colony, or a month long patrol mission along a hotly contested border where the ship and crew are constantly playing cat and mouse with ships on the other side of the border.

One thing though, if and when we get a new series, I doubt we'll see the unusably 26 episode long seasons anymore. I think a majority of network shows do twenty now and cable tends to go smaller than that with about 12 to thirteen. Obviously, exceptions are present, though in most cases that seems to be the new trend.

Honestly I would love that. And they might be going for a summer slot with the 13 episodes, because Sci-Fi and Stargate were successful in summer until they decided Stargate could be a fall show and kill the franchise ...
