totally agree,the episode with tom riker was also pretty annoying what happened to him did he goes to prison,die when cardassia

Yeah that episode didn't do well for the validity of Kira's promises.

Yes, it was her dying declaration, IIRC. Surely that would count as evidence of Duras' actions in both the Klingon and Federation legal systems.

Only to Worf though; he left without telling anyone what happened.

They pieced it together, but I'm not sure they had direct evidence.

I wonder if the Enterprise computer would track the Klingon visitors. Would Duras' movements aboard the ship reveal that he was the last person in K'Ehleyr's quarters prior to Worf finding her?

At any rate, Klingon justice is swift. Even Duras' men didn't object to Worf killing him, when Worf said that K'Ehleyr was his mate. They just let him go back to his ship after the duel.

Still, as far as the Federation is concerned, the murder of K'Ehleyr would have to be resolved. But no further mention is made of it. It's as though they accept that Duras must have been the killer. Perhaps the Klingons - or at least, Duras' men - admitted that Duras killed her, and with him dead, no further action on the part of the Federation was possible or necessary.

Actually, if the Enterprise's door sensors log visitors, there's evidence there as well.

The computer is capable of detecting life signs and detecting the locations of people on the ship, this much has been established. It would make sense that it would log these events, for at least a short period of time. It's not a stretch to think someone with proper security clearance could just ask the computer: "Who was the last person to enter Keyhlar's quarters before Worf entered at 0500(or whatever)?"

In addition I'm sure they could find Duras's DNA somewhere in the room/on Keylar after the struggle.

Those pieces of evidence, along with worf's testimony that keylar TOLD worf that duras was her killer, would be enough I'd think. The computer may even have the ability to playback what she said to worf as she died, in case there is any doubt that he would be making it up.

Of course, these things can be tampered with, but that could be looked into as well.

The computer doesn't detect the location of people though, it detects the location of their combadge. Seen multiple times when people aren't wanting their actual location to be known. Obviously Duras wasn't wearing one.

Agreed on the DNA though.

Unless it wasn't Duras himself, but some other random Klingon, that killed her. She only said "Duras" because she figured who was behind it all.

Duras had his men on the Enterprise distract the Starfleet guards so he could leave their quarters. He went to Kheylar's quarters where she confronted him about Worf's discomendation. Next scene Worf walks into the same room and finds her dead... she says his name. Come on now... unless Duras has a twin brother, it was him. Especially when he all but admits it by acknowledging Worf's right for vengeance.

Anyone else go WTF at Odo and Sisko's reactions to the whole thing?

When Worf got crippled on the Enteprise in Ethics, Picard respected Wolf's beliefs and never ordered Riker not to help Worf commit suicide, correctly stating that the question of assisted suicide was ultimately Worf's. He was going to ALLOW it to happen on the Enterprise.

Well, what Worf was doing in "The Sons of Mogh" was voluntary euthanasia rather than just assisted suicide as Worf was ending Kurn's life whereas in "Ethics" it was assisted suicide as Worf was handed an object for him to end his life. Apparently the former, at least in this case, was against Starfleet regulations.

I'm pretty sure in "Ethics" Worf intended to have Riker kill him. Riker then points out that it's Alexander's role to kill him, not Riker's. But there's no mention of Worf killing himself.
