I think I'll change my entry to this:

President Merkin Muffley in Dr. Strangelove

Vote, along with Kai's entry. Mr. Smith's going to Washington is a classic.

I honestly don't know I did wonder if that'd come up. If the G-man has any issues I'm happy to come up with something else

Actually, at the end of the movie Dave is campaigning for local office. So he is in fact, a ficticious politician and not just a ficticious president.

Re: ENTER! TV and Med Avatar Contest: Fictional Politicians

As long as the character holds "elective office," I'm comfortable with the entry. After all, a president who takes office due to the death or resignation of his/her successor is still, legally, the president and hold, legally, an "elective office."

I would ask, however, that people label their entries so we all know who the character is. For example, who the heck is this:

That's Ian Richardson as the urbanely nasty MP and PM Francis Urquhart, the BBC's terrific House of Cards trilogy.

We'll still in "primary season" until Wednesday. Plenty of time for new candidates to get in the race.

Still time for entries, folks, and lots of possibilities to choose from. In fact, I'm a little surprised we have no entries from Boss, Parks and Rec, Homeland, Benson, L&O, etc.
