Well Fellow Fringers, once again I have to work tomorrow morning so I must take my leave of you. This has been a lot of fun, most of it at the expense of Desmond's head.

I thought it was good. I really winced at what Etta had lapsed into as she tortured the Loyalist. In the end she let him go. I also noticed that all the Fringe team (except Walter) carried guns in shoulder holsters. Yet that seems to pale to what the Observers have done.

Beta tech was still used by TV stations for news recording long after it fell out of favor with the general public. And, of course, this is Walter.

His lab was also decked out with "state of the art" technology of the 70s and 80s. So having a beta player really isn't all that unexpected. And if the guy can create a laser that powerful out of a CD player, I'm sure he wouldn't have much trouble fixing up a VCR that might be a bit worn with age.

That said, I'm really confused by the amber process. It clearly just creates a protective coating around things, else the de-ambering processes we've seen wouldn't work whatsoever. So... how does it perfectly preserve living flesh, let alone human beings? I mean, it would have to completely stop the brain and every system inside the body... even though it's just coating them externally.

Very good episode. I'm looking forward to the treasure hunt, but did I miss something? Did Walter on the tape say where the next tape is hidden?

I loved all of the LOST references: Upwards camera shot of Walter and Peter looking down the hatch (seriously, I'm surprised no one mentioned this already), Eric Lange (aka Stuart Radzinsky), Agent Foster's gruesome fate (I guess this sadly means no more Henry Ian Cusick, unless somehow that head is actually still alive and not muscles and nerves moving), and the old video tape telling the viewers mysterious, incomplete information.
