Re: Dalek vs Borg

I suppose it depends on how powerful a Dalek energy weapon is (whether or not Borg drone shields can adapt and block them) and on whether or not dalekantium (the material their shells are made of) is dense enough to block a Borg nanoprobe injection tubule.

Re: Dalek vs Borg

A lot depends on how their first encounter goes. If the Borg are able to assimilate a Dalek, the knowledge gained would give them a major advantage. But if the Daleks find out how the Borg learn, then all Daleks will be ordered to self destruct immediately should the outer shell be compromised, thus preventing the Borg learning anything about them.

I can even imagine the Daleks creating dummy shells and allowing them to be assimilated as a way of spreading false information to the Borg.

Re: Dalek vs Borg

Borg, easily. As others have said
(1) the Daleks can't even climb stairs
(2) they repeatedly lose to ONE GUY who's usually unarmed except for a sonic screwdriver. Verrry intimidating.
(3) the Borg "collective voice" is much scarier than the Dalek's hysterical and high-pitched whines.
(4) the Daleks don't have any ability to match the Borg's adaptation ability

1.>The Dalek's have been able to get past stairs since the 1980's.
2.>One Guy from just about the only race that is more advanced them.

1. they hover, they still don't climb them.

2. he's still one guy, with no superpowers, superstrength, etc.

The Borg will just go back in time to when the Daleks couldn't ascend stairs back in the days of flared trousers, then they will defeat/assimilate them. Imagine Borg with flares? The horror!

Although only shown in the 80's, Daleks have ascended stairs before then. Way back in their third appearance, 'The Chase', Daleks were shown in locations they could only reach by ascending stairs.

1) Your point being? What tactical advantage does physically climbing stairs offer that hovering does not? Daleks are capable of high speed flight. How will a Borg assimilate them when they stay out of reach?

2) The only times the Borg have been stopped, it's by people without superpowers, superstrength, etc.

1) The Borg have typical biped mobility. The Daleks do not.

2) my point wasn't that the Borg were stopped by opponents with superpowers, my point was that the Daleks are repeatedly defeated by one really smart guy with a sonic screwdriver.

Daleks are the superior life form in the universe. The primitive Borg would be swiftly exterminated.

The Daleks posed a credible threat to the Time Lords, and have at one point attained the ability to unmake all creation. No contest, the Borg are fighting jet aircraft with bear skins and knives.

Yes, but the Dalek's do win battles, such as the Battle of Canary Wharf. WIth the Dalek's vs Cybermen, the Dalek's where winning that battle even though they were heavily outnumbered initally.

But the same could be said about the Borg who are repeatedly defeted by Starfleet ships.

Now, I'm sure the Dalek's would find that the Borg are superior in one way, they are better at dying.

The Borg were defeated by one guy telling them to go to sleep.

Compared to us humans the Doctor does have various superpowers. Starting with his ability to regenerate.
