Re: Cartoon Network Returning Genre Shows Sat AM

Really enjoyed this new episode of Young Justice, glad to have it back. Was interesting to get (essentially) confirmation that Jason Todd was Robin in the interim and died. Jaime's conversation with Impulse about Ray Palmer was nice, and it's interesting to see that they have the memorial for both "the Team" and the League in the same place. I only saw three - Robin, Tula, and Ray-BB, did I miss any?

The main story was very good, if particularly brutal for GA - poor Ollie, it was good of Arrow!Roy to stick up for him after Arsenal!Roy crushed him like that. Wonder how he'll react if he meets Jim Harper? Not much else to do for the others, but the girls did get a particularly fun moment and I wonder if we'll meet Rocket's husband/if he's anybody famous?

It bothers me that Speedy defaulted so readily to attempted murder; I would've hoped Ollie would've raised him better than that. And he was appeased somewhat too easily in the wake of that.
Well, we already knew Roy had something of a powerful temper and was prone to buck authority when his world hadn't been turned upside down and spent five years on ice. It's disappointing, no doubt for Ollie too, but I'm not sure how much we can blame Ollie.

Speaking of, have we seen Black Canary this season at all?

What surprised me was when Mercy bled, and made sounds of pain. I figured she was a full-on android, but apparently she's a cyborg. Which is kind of horrifying if you think about it, given how robotic she usually is. Just how voluntary was this transformation? How much of the original person is left, both physically and otherwise?
For a moment I wondered if they were going to have Arsenal!Roy kill Mercy and then have Lex make him an offer to take her place.

You mean Ted Kord, the previous Blue Beetle. Ray Palmer was the original Atom.

In the comics, she didn't get married, but rather got pregnant by an ex-boyfriend, who was a petty criminal (as she herself was before meeting Icon), while she was still a teenager. I guess the network probably didn't want them going there with her character, and besides, it's been five years so she's an adult now. So there's no way of telling where they're planning to go with this.

Aside from Artemis, that was all that was there.

Doh, right! Though technically Al Pratt was the original Atom.

Hmm, true yeah. I suppose it's possible that we never meet the guy and if YJ gets a third season and jumps forward in time again (Weisman's confirmed it will in Q&A) we might see her as a single mother because he died in the interim or left her?

Ah right, thanks! It was a pretty quick shot and I was trying to identify everybody, so must have just missed her somehow.

You know, one wonders how Dinah and Barbara were able to change into their costumes while frozen. Maybe Zatanna fixed that as well.

Yeah, I figure Zatanna magicked them into costume. But the YJ Wiki doesn't yet have the "translation" of her incantation.

Did anyone else get a laugh from a character voiced by a former Batman voice actor replacing a character voiced by a former Spider-Man voice actor at his job and aparently being more popular?

Oh, you mean Diedrich Bader as Guy and Josh Keaton as Hal. I didn't think of that. Now, if they'd brought in Rino Romano, who's played both Spidey and Batman, then that would be kind of weird.

Re: Cartoon Network Returning Genre Shows Sat AM

Well, hell.

Much to my annoyance, I discovered some crap in my DVR this morning. According to http://www.theouthousers.com/index.p...on-hiatus.html:

Surprisingly and without warning, while comics and geek culture are in the spotlight at New York Comic Con, Cartoon Network has made an abrupt change in their schedule, literally the last minute. According to their posted schedule, they have pulled new episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice, a.k.a. the DC Nation block, in favor of repeats of Johnny Test and Dreamworks' How to Train Your Dragon TV show. For those thinking it may due to CN celebrating its anniversary or simply as a short break while Comic Con is happening, well, the same block of cartoons is listed again for next week. Again, there is no sign at all of DC Nation. Several Outhousers are reporting that the DC Nation episodes are still listed on their local cable guide, despite the changes to Cartoon Network's website.

Yeah, it's extremely annoying. Hope we get some answers soon.

I was surprised nobody had any comments on YJ last week, considering we got to "meet" Tigress and that they

Re: Cartoon Network Returning Genre Shows Sat AM

Yeah I was surprised that no one had commented on last week's episode given how it ended and the suggestion that they threw outthere.
