Which would mean the producers of MoS may have had access to the design and used it as one the bases for the movie costume

This has been mentioned before, but the only thing the movie costume and the New52 costume have in common that does not derive from the traditional costume is the lack of the red trunks. The movie costume does not have a high collar, it does not have the sleeves going over the wrists, it has not changed the \S/ on the cape from yellow to black (instead, they dropped it altogether, just like they did on the animated versions since the 1990s as well as in SR), and it does not have a red belt.

...which why I said the Lee design might have been "one of the bases" for the movie costume (emphasis added).

Re: They are going ahead with a Justice League movie

But it's far more likely that the movie's designers just went their own way. As I suggested before, given how widespread the dislike of the old trunks-over-tights designs are these days, it's not even slightly implausible that two designers working with absolutely no knowledge of each other's designs would've made the same decision independently. So that particular similarity is not evidence of direct influence. If there were a similarity that weren't something one would've naturally expected anyone in the present day to have come up with -- like, say, if they'd both added a fur lining to the cape or put spurs on the boots -- then you could reasonably surmise a direct influence, because that's unlikely to be the result of coincidence or generational shifts in taste. But the loss of the trunks is not sufficient evidence of that.

You make a good point. Howeve, IIRC, DC and WB were talking about more synergy between the two branches of the company even before MoS started production. That leads me to think there was some sharing of ideas.

More rumors.

Seems that the Batman re-boot is set for 2016, with Wonder Woman, Flash and Aquaman in development. Green Lantern 2 is in doubt, as is Ryan Reynolds return.

Personally, I think they should retain Reynolds.

Re: They are going ahead with a Justice League movie

Hmmm.. i think they're rushing it with their shared universe.

Marvel made 5 movies before they tackled the big one and it worked out pretty well in generating buzz and explaining the characters without needing some form of background scenes in Avengers.

Here it's basically only Man of Steel to become the first chapter with Lobo taking place in the universe too (though i can't see him in Justice League). This means that you'd at least need to introduce Wonder Woman and Aquaman in the movie wasting valuable time setting them up (i guess Superman and Batman really don't need introductions).

With Avengers Joss could skip all of that and dive right into the story picking up threads from the previous movies as he went along.
Here it feels way too rushed and i get a Green Lantern vibe from it.. high hopes and concepts but it turns out to be a mediocre high budged blockbuster which failed.

I hope i'm wrong.. i've been dying to see Batman and Superman together onscreen (and im a 95% Marvel man).

I think the public perception of Wonder Woman is strong enough that she really wouldnt need to be introduced in any large way. DC generally has the edge in their characters existing in the public mind far better than the Marvel ones.

I totally agree with the first sentence.
The second sentence once held true. I'd say that edge has either dulled totally the past 10 years or it's about even. With the variety of Marvel movies from various studios and the cartoons airing on Disney channel with a new Avengers 'toon coming Marvel is very firmly rooted in the general public's awareness.

Problem is, the public perception of Wonder Woman is mostly that of the Lynda Carter series, and that only goes for the U.S.. I can tell you of the public perception of Wonder Woman in Germany, and that is almost non-existent. I guess it's similar in other European and Asian countries.

Really though, when you have Superman and Batman you don't really need a great public awareness of the other characters. Those two will be the main draw.

Is it really? The target audience for your typical superhero feature film these days is in the 15-30 age range, more or less. Most of them wouldn't even have been born when the Carter series went off the air, and it's been quite a long time since it was in regular syndication. I think the generation that the movies will be targeted toward is more likely to know Wonder Woman from the Justice League animated series if at all.

Yes, because Superman Returns and Batman & Robin did so well?

^Well, there it goes back to making a good movie. Joss Whedon made a good movie that focused as much on character as spectacle. If he hadn't, then it wouldn't have been as successful as it was, no matter what super-heroes were in it. If Warners can do the same, get knowledgable people who care about the characters and make an ensemble piece that's much about Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, Diana of Themyscara, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen and Arthur Curry as much as it's about the Justice League, then they will have a winner.
