Who Would You Cast As Captain Picard In A New Series or Movie?

Let's say you have a new Star Trek series or a movie sometime in the next ten years that has some kind of flashback or flashforward to the era of Captain Picard aboard the Enterprise-D.

Assume you had to get a new actor to portray Picard of that era.

Who would you suggest?

She has the acting skill and gravitas to pull off the role.

Not only a logical choice, but a pretty damn good one. The man can definitely act and has box office appeal.

Though I'm not sure how I'd feel about a Picard with hair.

Ditto. I mean, the guy basically has already played Picard... albeit an evil clone.

He simply needs to master the Picard Speech.

Another vote for Tom Hardy. I've been thinking about this too and he seems like the logical choice indeed.

Impossbile. Picard is one of the few characters that I think is impossible to recast with a new actor.

Yes, Patrick Stewart was THAT good.

I'd really rather have another crew than yet another reboot. But really Hollywood seems to be in a reboot decade where instead of coming up with anything original they just recycle old characters and plots.
