Worst: Green Lantern, Batman & Robin, Blade 3, Daredevil, and probably a few others that I'm lucky to never have seen.

Re: Best and worst comic book movies
The Spirit: slightly less mean spirited, confusing crap Hellboy II: fakey mythology gone wild Best, in order best firstt: Superman I: Slight edge, because it still gives me the feel good feeling Dark Knight: It's like sitting through the real events, it's taxing but great. Batman Begins: 2nd best superhero origin story Iron Man: All around goodness X-Men 3: Epic culmination of the trilogy X-Men 2: Much better than the first movie Captain America: Surprisingly good Avengers: Fun movie. wish half of it didnt take place on the SHIELD helicarrier Thor: I like this one better after repeat viewings Green Lantern: Im a sucker for the intergalactic hijinks

Re: Best and worst comic book movies
But, in some ways TDKR is worse, coming off the heels of two great (but far form flawless films) and trying to cram so much in there, yet having a story that is thin and dependant on so many conveniences (because his ability to use the Bat to fly was so essential to all the aspects of the story to play out that they might as well have brought in Superman to help fly around and carry a bomb). Batman and robin knew what movie it wanted to be and at least was consistent.

Re: Best and worst comic book movies
Worst? Jeez. Pretty much any "superhero" film before 1998 that didn't feature Batman or Superman, but including Superman III, Superman IV and Batman & Robin. After that, there's Catwoman, Elektra, both Fantastic Four movies, among others. But my all-time least favorite: League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the only movie of any genre that has ever caused me to fall asleep in the theater. What a TERRIBLE way for Sean Connery's (live-action) film career to end! |

Haven't seen Scott Pilgrim yet. And Dick Tracy... to be honest, once you take away the Art Direction... well, you don't have a whole lot left really. It's is a way to pass time, I suppose.

Re: Best and worst comic book movies
Worst: Catwoman/Batman and Robin. Hands down.. Bleagh!! I do think that one point has to be made here though... Two perpectives are needed.. You have the fanboys/girls vs. casual fans to contend with... I would imagine people who are not consistent or rabid followers of a certain comic, would have much less to complain about regarding some movies... Except for B & R.. That was pretty roundly denounced as pure shit... My wife LOVED Wolverine (and not just for the gratuitous Jackman butt shot) and I actually liked it quite a bit.. However, most big Wolvie/X-men fans I know couldn't stand it. I think the difference is that neither she nor I are X-men readers...
