I think you should have separate threads. People are going to have different opinions for each of the films, just like the Lord of the Rings trilogy (remember, technically that's one giant story/novel per Tolkien).

I meant a single thread for news/speculation. Of course there'll be separate review/grading threads for each movie.

I think the one speculation thread is fine cause once each movie opens discussion will then move to the individual grading threads. Discussion of the first film would move to the grading thread, discussion of the second begins in the speculation thread.

One thread for grading plus preserving this thread makes sense. It's probable people will also speculate in the grading thread too. Anyone have any memory of what we did when LOTR came out? I think all but ROTK was before my time here.

BTW, does anyone know when we'll find out which theaters are equipped for 48 fps 3D?

The thread title might need a change, then, to allow for the 2014 release of There And Back Again; or it could just get its own thread after Film 2 is out.

One thread for the spec should be fine. Sure its three films, but its one story. So it just seems logical to stick with one.

The first trailer (not teaser) should be out this month some time, probably the last week of September. It's already been rated, so it shouldn't be much longer.

New Trailer on the 19th, don't know if they mean the 19th in New Zealand (the 18th here) or if they mean 19th in the States, but never the less this week, and Jackson says to expect some other stuff this week or close as well, so I hope for another production diary (I love those).

Not only is there a trailer coming soon but we finally get a proper look at Sylvester McCoy as Radagast the Brown. And it's awesome!

It's funny, for years and years I've imagined Radagast looking and sounding like Tom Baker. In an oblique way, I wasn't completely wrong.

Looking very forward to these. Not much as of late to get my juices flowing about the theatre experience, and tv has been just horrid, so these films (hopefully!) will be a grand time for me and mine.
