Re: Generations deleted scenes
I had a vivid memory of the original way Kirk had died, even before the SE DVD came out. Just through an author's words and a handful of photos they did before the reshoot. I'd love to see an alternate cut of Generations, based on every part of the script they shot... but I'm definitely alone in this regard. Particularly since his death is actually less heroic and deserving of criticism. More of a brutal act by Soran, while the Captain momentarily lets his guard to operate a remote control decloaking the missile. Kirk gets shot in the back, while saying "24th Century ain't so tough". Re: Generations deleted scenes
Data referencing his sexual encounter with Tasha during his overload? If you think you saw those scenes in a cut of the movie --quit taking drugs. Honestly, it justs sounds like you are making stuff up. They show a shorter version of the Georgdi torture scene in the movie, but never aired the full-length version in the theater. |

Re: Generations deleted scenes
The opening post is the same as me saying aliens abducted me last night--you can't 'prove' I'm lying, but chances ARE I'm a nut or liar. To say the scenes he speaks of in the opening post were in a theatrical cut of Generations and using 'his friend' as 'proof' are just beyond lame. Lursa mentions Geordi 'taking a bath' and now that turns into a cut where he 'remembers' Geordi taking a shower and 'commenting' on it to his friend during the movie--that's just bizarre. His friend commenting on Data's sexual outburst during the scene where Data's chip goes haywire? That not just false it's kind of sick. We have all misremembered a line or a brief scene that we may have read or heard of from a novel or whatever, but declaring with certainty and metioning all the particulars of an event that clearly never happened seem very strange. He either has serious problems or is just looking for attention. And forgive me if I'm wrong but didn't the same poster ALSO claim to have seen theatrically another version of another Trek movie with scenes that were NOT in the theatrical cut. Really? So, Paramount is showing alternate versions of the Trek movies where ever this guy goes--just for him? Yeah, i'm being a jerk. Glad I'm a jerk and not crazy. And why do people pander and try to come up with reasons why this person might have thought he saw this stuff. He DIDN'T and it's not just simple misremembering. Re: Generations deleted scenes
I'm very certain that if such a thing existed it wouldn't be widely available on the black market at cons and such. That would never happen. Only a single copy floating around for him to see. I believe he said that the FX for the deleted scenes were in finished form. Really, they spent tons of money to finalize FX for scenes that didn't make the general cut, that us mere mortals didn't see? I can't wait to hear what other versions of the Trek movies he has seen that no one else has. And I'll re-correct myself---he DOES claim that the alternate version of Nemesis was in the theaters! The copy he saw was filmed in the theater and he could see a guy in the audiences' afro with a pick sticking out of it! So a version of Nemesis that included EVERY deleted scene from the Blu-ray and even MORE WAS shown theatrically and he recently saw it. So he can't be mis-remembering that can he. Yep, the 2 hour 40 minute version of Nemesis WAS shown theatrically and he recently saw it in bootleg form and I/we can't 'prove' he's a fibber. I guess I have sown the wind....... Re: Generations deleted scenes
But it is awfully similar to the Nemesis thread he started a while back.

Re: Generations deleted scenes
When the shockwave hits the crashed Enterprise and destroys it, there's a quick shot of the people on the bridge being vapourised by it before you see the entire planet explode.

Re: Generations deleted scenes
A while back another poster claimed to have seen the rough cut of TWOK and at first I was very skeptical, but I didn't jump to the conclusion that he was a confabulator. I followed the thread and asked questions and i was super surprised that he was 100% honest and informed. With every post the other poster gave more and more facts that only could be coming from someone who had seen it and was telling the truth. This person, who may be a great guy and a decent person, is saying things in these two threads that are so wrong/uninformed/silly that it really reaches the level of assuming other people are also uninformed or just plain stupid or naive. I hate being treated that way in person or in a forum of supposedly like-minded people. I've posted dumb things, wrong things, unfunny, unwitty and boring things, but I don't make sh*t up and treat other people like dupes. Maybe he DID take some 'great' or 'bad' dope (depending on your point of view) and thougtht he saw those scenes and his interactions following them. I've had a number of really cool Star Trek dreams that seemed 100% real while I was having them, but when I woke up I realized it was just in a nerd's paradise. I didn't post them! And at the risk of getting kicked in the nuts from every angle I don't believe the Joker either. They created a shot of the bridge interior where they spend FX money showing the crew vaporized and then just cut it, for what reason? Make one up--that's what we'll have to do in order to believe him. And does a SINGLE person who saw Generations remember seeing that. Anybody? The difference is that I'm not gonna say I 100% KNOW it wasn't there--just that it's very unlikely. I don't pretend to remember every shot from movies decades ago. Oh well, I do remember that in Charlie X, Rand had a nipple slip, but hey I was 13 years old so I might just have dreamed it! |
