Ohh, Michael Emerson is a fantastic vocal performer. He should do really interesting things with the Joker. This is the best news I've heard about this whole project.

Very cool news. Emmerson is a delightful choice.

That is awesome!
I have a bit of an off topic subject here for a moment:
I was just looking at the Wikipedia page for DCUA movies, and Wonder Woman is actually the fourth highest grossing movie in the entire 15 movie series. I find it very hard to believe that could possibly be proof that people aren't interested in WW or female Superheroes. I find ironic that I read that Supergirl wasn't included in the title for Apocalypse because of disappointing sales for WW, when WW made $126,5071 more than Apocalypse.

The "Wonder Woman" DTV is also one of the better ones IMO. It's in my top five. I don't understand their line of thinking.

Yeah, I was annoyed by that line of thinking, but knowing that it was more popular than I originally thought makes it even more aggravating.

Re: The Dark Knight Returns animated movies news

I think the problem wasn't that Wonder Woman didn't sell enough DVDs, but that it didn't sell them fast enough.

And Emerson as the Joker is an interesting choice. I'd planned to skip these two releases, but now I'm curious.

Re: The Dark Knight Returns animated movies news

IMDB is listing Mark Valley as the voice of Superman in "The Dark Knight Returns Part II" so it's probably not true.

^Probably not but if true, it's a decent enough choice.

Judging from that clip, I find it to be too slick, both in appearance and performances, to really capture the flavor of the original.
Aye. I don't much see the point of a TDKR that doesn't have the ragged and dirty visual flavor of Miller's book. (Which I'm not a huge fan of, but if one does it, one should do it right.)

Mark Valley would indeed be a decent choice...I've been a fan of his for a long time, but it's IMDB so I automatically am skeptical

While it had a feel to it I never really cared for the art in the original TDKR, especially the second half. And that would have been more bother than it's worth to replicate it exactly. So I have no problem with what this feature looks like so far.

^Sure, I have no desire to see Miller's art style accurately reproduced. I'm thinking more in terms of the tone of the story and its world, and what kind of visual style would be a good fit for that. Something rougher-edged, grungier, less slick would seem to work better.

I'll reserve final judgement until I see the complete feature.

That sort of open-mindedness has no business on the internet.
