Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje to play Kurse

Glad they will have another tough villain for Thor to face.
This sounds good, really good at face value. Now have they written material good enough for Kurse? Keep the faith.

There's something called "porn." You may have heard of it. It's available, often for little or no cost, on the internet and will give you plenty of boobs to look at...without them potentially ruining a good superhero movie.
Indeed. If the only good thing some people can say about the Darcy character is her boobs then we have a problem.
But they're really spectacular boobs!!!!!!

I think of Darcy as the Jar Jar Binks of the MCU.
Well, to be fair, she isn't a hideous racial stereotype.
Neither is Jar Jar ( whose mannerisms were created by the black actor playing the part and were not dictated by Lucas ).
Excellent point. After all, it isn't as George Lucas, a notorious control freak and writer, director and executive producer of the film, had any say whatsoever in how his actors did their jobs.

I'm sure Ahmed just went along with the "racism" in the name of the almighty dollar. I mean, it's not like we ever saw a black guy do an annoying high-pitched voice before.

The fact remains that the character does not display characteristics of the race it is alleged to be a stereotype of. The Star Wars Tea Party is just like any other Tea Party, and equally full of shit.

No, Jar-Jar very much presents the stereotype of an islander, pot-smoking, black man. The fact that the voice happened to be made up by a black man doesn't change the fact that the voice and characterization of Jar-Jar and his entire species is pretty darn stereotypical.

Nope. And I missed the part where Jar Jar smokes pot. Jar Jar only represents blacks to those who have an... interesting view of blacks to say the least. Don't tell me... blacks walk like Gungans, right? Those looking for racism on Lucas' part need to face the apparently inconceivable fact that the racism isn't coming from Lucas.

Jar Jar's voice is stereotypical of blacks, eh? You don't get out much, do you?

The fact that the voice happened to be made up by a black man is not something you can just sweep under the rug. But if you concede that Best made it up, I guess that takes Lucas out of the conspiracy, doesn't it? So the theory becomes Best launching a self-hating racial attack just for the hell of it? Good luck with that one. It wasn't racist when Michael Winslow did it - because Lucas wasn't involved.

I'm betting that, for example, African American liberal Patricia Williams is going to be shocked to learn she's a racist and a tea partier. Same with Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder.

I'm talking about the Star Wars Tea Party, not the Tea Party.

We're talking about racism towards African Americans. Are you really trying to claim that the two black authors cited are racist against their own race?

This tangent is pointless, it'd be nice to get back to Thor. I wonder if thy're going to cast a Balder this time.

Re: Thor 2 -Movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2013

New rumor about Dr.Strange being in Thor 2 in some capacity.
This makes it sound like, if it's true, a similar type of usage by the character like Natasha was in IM2.

Keeping in mind that the title of the film (The Dark World) had yet to be revealed, and the rumors above weren’t accurate, we held off on the biggest rumor of them all: that the Thor sequel would introduce and star Doctor Stephen Strange. The Playlist claimed that Natalie Portman’s character Jane Foster could be working alongside Dr. Strange in a similar capacity as she did with Stellan Skarsgård’s Dr. Erik Selvig in the first film, and that Strange would be playing a big part in “all three acts” of the film, as opposed to being relegated to a cameo-type introduction. He would play a scientist (he’s a genius neurosurgeon in the comics) and someone who’s deeply interested in Foster’s stories and knowledge about Asgard and Thor.
They acknowledge that other rumors associated with the movie haven't borne out but hey, try this one on for size.

I thought the Avengers was the sequel to Thor, Captain America, the Incredible Hulk, and Iron Man 2.
