Both of those sound a bit intriguing, but we need more details.

Finn and Sawyer

The network is developing Finn & Sawyer, a contemporary take on Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

The drama hails from Detroit 1-8-7 duo Jason Richman and David Zabel and is described as an adventure-themed reinvention that revolves around the two famed literary characters who re-meet as young men in their 20s and form an investigative firm in a bustling and steampunk
New Orleans.
So, this could be a direct prequel to League of Extraordinary Gentlemen?
I was thinking it sounded an awful lot like Wild, Wild West

Hey at least they threw in something novel with the steampunk aspect rather than making them detectives in contemporary New Orleans. I wonder just how far the steampunk aspect will go.

I enjoyed him on The Talking Dead, and hope he does it again this year. He didn't look anything like Chuck, LOL.
Is he a TWD fan? maybe he should join that show, as an insane redneck badass. That would be a fun departure for him.

Or - Steampunk Huck Finn? Hmm, I have the vague feeling I read he's originally from Louisiana...

That was my second thought.

Gothica

Race to Witch Mountain's Matt Lopez has sold Gothica, a supernatural mystery drama to the network.

The project, which is not related to the 2003 Halle Berry feature Gothika, centers on a woman searching for her own identity in modern San Francisco who delves into a world of supernatural mystery and horror, guided by an enigmatic playboy named Dorian Gray.
Neither of those really sounded that interesting, until the last few words. I am intrigued by the steam punk and Dorian Gray mentions. Neither of those are things you see on TV much these days.

Wouldn't be the first time Tom Sawyer worked as a detective.

Blake's 7 remake now in SyFy's clutches.

I don't really care one way or the other about the remake, but the odds are pretty high that the existing fans will hate whatever SyFy does with the show, so for their sake I hope it doesn't go to series.

The Dirty Dozen in space sounds like a good idea for a new series, but they should just go with that original concept, and maybe do something with a Tarantino retro feel to it, with a war-movie/video game emphasis on action.

But I'm still chiefly rooting for the RHW series. Nice to see continuing interest from SyFy in developing space opera series. Someday we might even see one of them...

The other thread in July mentioned they was shopping it.
Blake's 7 reboot back on again

very cool to see 13 episode commitment by SyFy. Yes I am happy to see Space Opera being committed to at the network.

The Dirty Dozen in outer space was exactly the words used by Terry Nation when he pitched the idea to the BBC execs. So I do think they're using the original concept.

"Syfy is thrilled to have Roger Blake take on the evil Dr. Servalan and her mad science army of flying sharks, giant snakes and space twisters in this new exciting reimagining. We are excited to have veteran actors John Schneider as Blake, C. Thomas Howell as Avon and pop sensation Tiffany as Dr. Servalan."

Same here. I've never seen Blake's 7, but I cringe in sympathy.

I'm a little nervous SyFy may water it down, but, I'm just as nervous someone may swing too far in the other direction and make NuBSG look "Unicorns and Rainbows" in comparison and I also don't want to see it turned into a True Blood type Orgy (A little sex is fine, but, there's no need to have multiple sex scenes every episode)
