Re: Arnold Schwarzenegger - The Last Stand
Maybe it's just the angle of the camera, but as somone who has fired shotguns before, that is NOT the way you hold it.. The kickback would be a killer.

Re: Arnold Schwarzenegger - The Last Stand
![]() He's had a fairly good mix of Germanic sounding names as well, and then completely off the wall last names like Matrix in Commando, which is French in origin and derived from Latin, although that was one of the few movies where they gave him a Germanic backstory (he grew up in East Germany). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnold_...er_filmography I see what you're saying, but ultimately acknowledging his accent doesn't really matter unless they draw attention to it in the movie. If they put too much emphasis on it, you wind up with silly stuff like explaining Van Damme's accent and command of English by saying he grew up in the Louisiana bayou, and then giving him a French mother who didn't speak English and a father who spoke perfect English with an American accent.

Re: Arnold Schwarzenegger - The Last Stand
It just adds to my general sense that Arnie himself is a bit distracting in a movie like this. Like I say, had they gone with someone like Neeson, Willis or even Sly, they'd have been more convincing as an ordinary sheriff caught up in extraordinary circumstances. But it looks like they're going for an OTT feel to this movie, rather than a slightly more plausible Die Hard/ Hostage vibe.

Re: Arnold Schwarzenegger - The Last Stand
The first thought that came to mind was the Rock's terrible remake of Walking Tall, right down to Johnny Knoxville being the dufus Deputy sidekick. This particular scene stuck out as very odd to me, almost as if this is the first time someone is picking up a gun and shooting it, like they are afraid of it or something, i don't know what it was. Re: Arnold Schwarzenegger - The Last Stand
It looks fun to me, if it's reasonably entertaining I'd be happy to have another go with the Scwarz. I grew up with the guy so I have a soft spot. |
