Great spin upon an internet "meme" (whatever happened to the phrase "running gag"?), and nice image editing skills to boot. I particularly like the recessed effect of the open panel!

Sincerely,

Bill

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

Nothing really fancy or intriguing about this composition. I just wanted to depicted a full body portrait of M'Ress in standard uniform doing her job.

One thing I do ponder. If we assume a Caitian's ears are flexible in a fashion similar to that of terran felines, would it be a tad more difficult for those ear-piece receivers (like the ones Uhura and occasionally Spock wore) to stay in place? You'd think their natural reflex to twitch their ears might pop free those devices.

Sincerely,

Bill

Here, kitty-kitty!

I'm curious about what's causing the big square shadow there ...

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

It might be the starboard corner of the the viewscreen module. I only loaded the floor unit (which contains the turbolift alcove and the main monitor) and the comm' station. I have three lights, the primary one is, in effect peering over the viewscreen module, so it is casting a shadow, That light is low enough to cast that particular shadow far enough to reach her paws.

Sincerely,

Bill

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

M'Ress: "Security obstacle, uh, 'neutralized'..."

Looks like M'Ress has dispatched one of Mr. Flint's M-4 robots and is now reporting her status. Maybe Flint patented the design and sold them.

Just presenting an idea for a landing party uniform a tad more practiacl than the standard miniskirt. Actually it is the miniskirt geometry with the hip section removed. I applied a velvet procedural to the hips and legs of the base figure to imply some sort of form fitting pants or leotard. Oshikai, who modeled the uniform, offers a freebie set of "socks" (maybe "spats" is a better description?) for use with the digitigrade lower legs. Our very own moderator, Ptrope, supplied the M-4 robot and the "cabin" seen in "Mudd's Women".

Sincerely,

Bill

Awesome? I wish. I just kinda' "muddle through" hoping I can slap together a passable composition.

Though I will admit it gives me a warm'n'fuzzy feeling when a run a Google image search on "M'Ress", a few of my own pieces appear upon the first page.

Sincerely,

Bill

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

Thalek recently pointed out a newly released hair prop he thought might work with my interpretation of M'Ress. I must say his recommendation was a great one. I particularly like the random "strands" that add to its "realism".

Sincerely,

Bill
