Go USA Soccer. Was watching some of their match, and they all look good and athletic, and just fun in general.

Up.

Okay, so are all the masculine feminists happy we're voting on an athlete or does she also have to have a Harvard MBA?

Sideways for one simple reason:

She's a pro sports player.. while that produces insanely well trained and good looking men (I'm told many women like fit, six packed guys) it doesn't look so good on a woman.

While she's not bodybuilder type muscular her legs are still quite strong and muscular (which is ok in her sport) but is a turn off for me.. her upper body is ok.

Her face though is very attractive so once she quits and dials down the training she may get a more feminine figure and then she's perfect.

In my estimation of feminine pulchritude, there can be such a thing as having too hard a hard body. I prefer women who are a little softer than the estimable Ms. Solo, particularly in their facial features. Great athlete, certainly a local hero here in the Emerald City, but doesn't give me that certain zing. Sideways.

For the most part, I'm kinda inclined to agree with the two above quotes. Still, these two shots of Miss Solo are pretty awesome:

I would not count on it.

Ugh.

Apparently I'm not "many women".

Re: Hope Solo: Babe of the week #31 (July 2012)

I have a soft spot for female athletes. A body built for a purpose, not just to be ogled by men. Apparently, that's not "feminine" to be strong, focused and purposeful. No surprise some people here think it's a turn-off.

Also, being a goalkeeper is the most inglorious and stressful role in football. A striker can fuck up 20 shots and get lucky once, they are the hero of the night. A goalie does a fantastic performance but fuck up once, that's a disaster. You have to be made of ice and steel to keep up with that.

And she's also very cute.

So, a vote for Hope Solo, fantastic athlete and excellent sportswoman.

There are many ways of being strong, focused, and purposeful, mate. Intellectually...spiritually...psychologically... socially...

And that goes for both genders, BYW. You can be strong, focus, and purposeful without being "buff" or "ripped", or whatever you want to label it....

After all--James T. Kirk didn't have a six-pack--and neither did Picard. I'm pretty sure, as fit as Sisko and Archer were, they don't count, either....

She's aight.

Michelle Jenneke should be up next if athletes are going to make a stronger show in these threads. That warm-up vid before she blew the doors off her run was pretty great. It's always attractive to see someone who so clearly enjoys what they're doing and does it so well, to boot.

Which has nothing to do with the discussion at hand. Apparently, it's just peachy to be "strong, focused, and purposeful"... except when women make their body into their own tool, instead of an object of men's desire. In that case, that's just a turn off.

Total nonsequitur. Winston Churchill was seven kinds of badass, and also a fat pig. That's not what we are talking about.

^Apparently it is--for women, anyway. Apparently, it's "non sequiter" when I apply that standard to men...?

Anyhow--notice how one of you allies in such fights apparently considers men with "buff/ripped" figures to not be a turn-on. And yet you proclaim the reverse for women, and justify it via "strong, focused, and purposeful"...?

Not that I'm demanding you and her be in total agreement on such things. I just find it, shall we say--amusing.

Still--I do agree on Churchill's awesomeness; I'll give you that.

No idea how good she is as an actress, but based on appearance alone I can definitely imagine her as Han Solo's daughter, or as Wonder Woman.

Thumbs up.

OJ chose to become an actor, this lady apparently has not. She's a football player, I'm sure she'd like it if people discussed her skill as a goalie rather than commenting on how she'd look good in a Wonder Woman outfit.

She could win the fucking Nobel Prize, you guys would still be judging her primarily on how good she looks in a short skirt.

Very accomplished athlete. I have a friend who coaches girls soccer and speaks highly of her as a good role model for them. She apparently did well on the ABC dancing show too.
