Yeah, I stopped watching Letterman when I realized that he makes jokes about things he is completely clueless about. IMO you need to understand something before you can actually make good jokes about it.

Hell, a Republican Congresman recently fell for an Onion "story" about a supposed "abortionplex" compound that Planned Parenthood was supposedly building for 8 billion dollars!

The stupid thing is if you read the Onion Article and look at the picture "inside" the complex and the infographic of its floorplan it should be obvious to anyone with a functioning brain stem it was fake. I mean, how did this Congressman think it was even possible for such a massive facility to be built for so much money in the middle of freaking Kansas of all places?!

I found this interesting in the Toronto Sun today.

While the likelihood of seeing Bale reprise Batman for a fourth time is small what I get out of the article is something else. I don't think Batman dies in TDKR.

A week away and still no reviews? We already know they're going to be great, so I don't know what the holdup is.

Probably a gag-order by the studio until next week a day or two before the movie opens.

Now for a lot films the panic button would be hit if reviews weren't released till a day or two before. Claims of "They(studio) know the film is a stinker and are trying to curb disappointment."

Here, however, its "We know it's going to be great."

Just pointing out the disparity.

Reviews are almost always put out just a few days before.

^^
I know, was simply pointing out that depending on one's expectations the mood is either "it's going to be shit, the studio knows it" or "we know the reviews will be good, what's the hold up."

At least we know who the villain is, and are excited because of it. Take that, Abrams!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

I'm assuming this is Warner Bros way of containing possible spoilers that could leak out due to reviews. You don't really want more potential David Letterman situation's happening. JacksonArcher I believe posted some early reaction in the movie review and discussion thread he started. Apparently those who have seen it already, say it's mind blowing. I think I read somewhere one audience theater gave it a standing ovation.

The huge bulk of them, yeah. But you still usually see a handful of reviews a week or so beforehand.

I wonder if it might have something to do with the controversial political themes in the movie we've heard about. The studio might now want a bunch of bloggers and news commentators making a big fuss and getting morally outraged over it right before the movie comes out...
