Teaser coming very soon?

This was reported by someone at AICN who has spoke to Karl Urban.

Urban also revealed that before the end of Comic-Con, footage from the STAR TREK sequel will land up on YouTube, so keep an eye out for that.

It will be great if it is true!

All Urban says is "footage." This does not necessarily mean a teaser, it could just be a clip from the movie.

Now that the film is less than one year away, I can see us getting a teaser trailer soon. Teaser trailers don't necessarily need to give any plot information. The regular theatrical trailer would probably give away some general story details, but not necessarily a teaser trailer.

By the way, the teaser for Star Trek 2009 came out about 16 months prior to the film's opening.

You also have to remember when the teaser trailer came out Trek09 hadn't been pushed back 6 or 8 months yet.

I remember Orci, on TrekMovie back in early June, saying we'd get a teaser "super soon". So, maybe...

I'm slightly skeptical. If it weren't for his joke about Gary Mitchell I'd take it more seriously, unless that's part of their plan.

I was thinking an actual "Theatrical Trailer" (with scenes from the film) would come out with one of the big Holiday films. I would think we could get a "Teaser Trailer" (without necessarily any scenes from the film) sooner than that.

It would be great to see some substantial movie trailer for Star Trek attached to The Hobbit, opening December 14, although I wouldn't be shocked if we didn't see anything until after the new year.

We'll get a proper trailer in November, perhaps with Skyfall. It was November 2008 that we got Trek XI's first proper trailer, and it was with Quantum of Solace.

^ I highly doubt that given that TNG-HD and the movie are run produced by separate companies (CBS and Paramount, respectively), but it would be a nice surprise.

I had been hoping that there would be a teaser out today with TDKR, but since there isn't, what movies are coming up that there could possibly be a trailer with? I'm guessing that the full theatrical trailer will be with the next James Bond movie, but that is still many months away.
