Incredible Hulk #10 - Interesting tale that sets up a new angle on just where those kids will end up. I be they never make it to Mars. I'd also like some more back story on "Mother" and "Father", answers that he might've gotten to at some point if he weren't leaving the book. Clearly Jason Aaron has something in order to keep Hulk angry and weak all at the same time for next issue. No way Kraven the Hunter stands a chance vs Hulk.

I still haven't accepted that Kraven the Hunter is back, screwing up one of the best Spidey stories for some ridiculous nonsense about the Antarctic. So he must be zombie Kraven, and zombie Kraven doesn't need to beat the Hulk. He just needs to eat the Hulk.

This is rather disappointing, but I suppose exciting for those who've been reading Greg Ruka's Punisher.
That depends on how closely War Zone will be related to Rucka's Punisher.

Derishton wrote: View Post
I doubt it'll happen, but wouldn't it be interesting if the Punisher basically came out for mutant rights and the defense of national borders? And voted Obama?
Heh, interesting for sure, though for a while "mutant rights" and "defense of national borders" as part of a package might not work, since the Phoenix Five are trampling all over national borders.

Dear god, I wish he would stop and proof-read his articles before publishing. He desperately needs an outside editor. He has such an annoying tendency to have posts full of sentence fragments, missing words, etc., that I sometimes have to read twice to understand what he's trying to say.

Edited to add: I really wish there was better synchronization going on with AVX. As things stand, I don't understand how Avengers and Secret Avengers, both using the same set of characters and both taking place out in space prior to the Phoenix's arrival at Earth, sync up. In one, Protector is still allied with the team, but in the other he's been left on the Kree homeworld as a traitor; and that isn't the only oddity that makes those titles difficult to reconcile. In the latest AVX issue, Beast walked away from the Avengers, yet one of the tie-ins this week had him fighting alongside them against the X-Men. The editors and writers involved really need to be doing a better job at making sure their titles match up with one another.

Grim Hunt was actually pretty good...I don't think having Kraven back diminishes Kraven's Last Hunt at all. I doubt Kraven will do anything except be a plot device to keep Hulk angry, which is kind of the point. I echo Craig's thoughts about issue ten, although I must admit I'm starting to lose focus with this book...but I'll remain with it since it's Aaron and the art is fantastic.

At the beginning of the Secret Avengers story, it says this takes place prior to the Avengers story. So the Kree / Captain Marvel story took place before the betrayal story.

^ Yeah, they made it pretty clear in Avengers also. There was a "See Secret Avengers 26-28" caption box, afterwhich we see Thor and Rhodey already recovering from the injuries suffered in their SA battles. I never really saw where the confusion here lay as it was clearly stated.

I don't recall seeing such a caption box in my digital copy of the comic, and comiXology seems to be having log-in issues so I can't check the issue.

In any event, I had long since forgotten the note that Mr Light mentions, so thank you for the reminder. Not picking up on it in reading the issues might be a clue to myself that I'm also reading too many titles as it is...

In issue 26. The gorgeous double-page spread of the Phoenix Force ripping through the team in the bottom right corner, just below the caption box with Beast reporting that "We completely failed in our mission."

It's in my print copy at least.

ETA: Actually, I CAN see where the confusion comes from-- the story actually reads in this order-- Avengers 26, up until the above mentioned double page spread, then Secret Avengers 26-28, then back to Avengers 26 and the double page spread and the rest of the story.

Actually,CBR just released the results of their reader poll counting down "The 50 Greatest Spider-Man Stories Ever Told", And "Kraven's Last Hunt" was actually voted as being the best Spider-Man story ever. Seven out of my ten votes made the the Top 10. (However, one of my votes didn't even make the top 50 at all.)

Well, the trade should at least be remarketed as "Kraven's Second to Last Hunt and Counting."

Bringing back Kraven is exhibit # 1 in the "we can do NEW stories of Peter isn't married anymore." (Exhibit # 2 is a positive one: the single issue Human Torch/Peter Parker drinkfest in FF - that's genuinely a "single Pete" story)

Is Marvel finally bringing back Jean Grey? How much would it suck for Scott/Jean shippers (such as myself) if they bring back Jean only to kill Scott?

Marvel has wanted to bring Jean back for some time as the article indicated. Looks like we'll find out exactly what this means tomorrow....as a huge Jean fan I've been waiting for this since 2003.
