IRON MAN 3 Action To Unfold At Hollywood Landmark; 'Love Triangle' Subplot To Emerge?

NOOOOOO!

Not a love triangle! Don't turn this into a damn soap opera! Tony should be dealing with super villains not trying to pick up on hot women. A triangle was one of the many reasons why Spider-Man 3 blew.

One of my favorite things about these Iron Man movies is the relationship between Tony and Pepper. Creating a love triangle just seems like a cheap way to create unnecessary drama.

It's a trope for sure, but the usual follow-up to a show involving two people getting together is to test that relationship. In general no one falters and they both become stronger at the end of it; other times one person does, and Pepper ends up with the loveable boxing partner / limo driver / suitcase legman. Either way, wouldn't mind seeing it.

The article mentions it may be a love 'rectangle'. If that's the case, I could totally see it in a way which has Tony and Pepper playfully teasing each other

Or it could mean that Pepper and Happy are hooking up. It happened in the comics.

I know it happened it the comics, but it's not believable in these movies. There has been ZERO built up to Happy having the hots for Pepper in the two movies. It has always been Tony and Pepper with the exception of Tony in the fling with the reporter, but that was before they started their relationship.

Also why the hell Pepper pick Happy when she already has Tony? That's too unbelievable.

All I know is that fans would have called Jon Favreau arrogant as hell if he had his character start a relationship with Pepper. There is using your power as a director to do a fun cameo and there is abusing its power so you can make out with Gwyneth Paltrow!

One of them things I really liked about the first Iron Man was there was a romance and flirting, but it never took over the plot. Tony and Pepper didn't EVEN kiss. It might have been a first in a superhero movie.

They started to become annoying in IM2, but got better again in Avengers.

I just don't want the romance to ruin the movie like Spider-Man 3 which had a tedious love triangle.
