^ Agreed. Miller was one of their better writers when he was on the show, if not the best.

DC solitics for September's Zero month. Batman family previews. There is a link there for the Justice League preview as well.

These don't sound half bad actually. Especially the Batgirl one! Finally.

Bleeding Cool has a few cancellations. Resurrection Man, Captain Atom...

...no surprise there.

Captain Atom will be missed.

I thought Resurrection Man might hold on a little longer. In any given month it sells better than about half a dozen other New 52 titles.

Of the groups released so far today we have other three cancelled books, Voodoo, Res Man and Captain Atom. so they join JLI.

I'll miss Atom though.

Re: DC's New 52: Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers welcolme and likely)

Some comments from Bob Wayne and John Cunningham to CBR about the sales for the New 52 collections so far:

Cunningham: The other thing to keep in mind with the trade paperbacks is that the totality of that business is not only the Direct Market. We've been extremely excited by the fact that of the six books we released in the month of May, five made the New York Times bestseller list. We were very clear from the beginning of the process that we launched the New 52 as a two-phase gambit. The first phase was the periodical launch, and the second stage was the launch of the collections. And we were excited to take those out to the mass market and see how they'd do. And in fact, you'll see in the New York Times list from this Sunday that Scott Snyder's "Batman" is the #1 hardcover on the list. Or looking at BookScan numbers, that same book is in its third week in the top 50 of all hardcover fiction – not even just graphic novels but all hardcovers. That's the fulfillment of the promise we knew we had at the launch, and it's extremely heartening for us to see that now.

Wayne: Or to go further, the highest ranking item on the Diamond chart that's within the Marvel Universe is "Spider-Man: Season One" at #13. I don't believe that if you'd have told people two years ago, "There will be a new 'Animal Man' book and a new 'Spider-Man' book coming out in the same month, and the 'Animal Man' book that is a reprint will outsell the 'Spider-Man' book [of original material]" – I don't think that would have been anybody's expectation.

They had made mention that Mitch's soul/essence was powerful enough to be fighting over. He kept going into a state of Resurrection so he couldn't be claimed by either side. The series had already introduced a new antagonist that was going to keep trying to claim him.

Then it paused for a bit, had the Suicide Squad crossover.
Still, as another noted it sold better than some of the other titles not being cancelled. The rhyme and reason isn't apparently straight up sales numbers. We are not privy to something in the decision process on this.

"Superman" gets it's third creative team in it's first year as Scott Lobdell and Kenneth Rocart take over in September. A link to the Superman family Sep solitcs are included as well.

Looks like we're going back to Krypton for Superman #0 and Grant Morrison reveals Clark's early days in Metropolis (I assume we get to see his first arrival and what not)

So we're going to get two different versions of Superman's origin in only a few months? Joy.

Re: DC's New 52: Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers welcolme and likely)

What two origins? One book is focusing on Jor-El and the final days of Krypton which was only really hinted at in Action Comics. The other story takes place in Metropolis probably a few months before Action Comics #1. I don't see the big deal here.

Kenneth Rochart doing the art on Superman is great news. He's the only reason I'm reading Red Hood, it's pretty good art!

I was digging Resurrection Man, but, I wasn't in love with it. I hope DnA get a chance to wrap it up. I also hope they get more work and soon.

I'm really surprised Firestorm isn't on the cancelled list. I've all but officially dropped it and I really haven't seen anything positive about it, save from the die-hard Firestorm websites.
