Re: The Vampire Diaries - Season 3 - Discussion
If the show needs a cool, old vamp, I vote to Elijah. If one of them has more than one brain cell to rub togehter, they grab Jeremy and turn him. They might end up in the coffin collection but they won't be dead. Klaus and Barbie Klaus need to go. They are both stunted, vapid, boring characters.

Re: The Vampire Diaries - Season 3 - Discussion
I am going to speculate. We know from the last ep that the original vamps know that the pack of idiots are tracing their bloodlines. Did Stefan get an extra dose of stupid in his morning coffee? I don't know why he just divulged the info to Klaus. He could have just said that Alaric was being special and they were trying to pry out the stake info - end of convo. He let a valuable piece of info go for no reason. Who is to say that the Originals knew that their death would cause the deaths of those they created? Up until Finn, only Mikael had been killed. Based on who he was, I doubt he turned anyone. Stefan and Co. had a front row seat to Sage and her lackey's death. That does not mean that Rebecca and the brothers would necessarily know. None of them had died. So, they would be unaware of any consequences. Kol should grab Jeremy and vamp him. Because, I would say that bloodline runs back to Rebecca or Klaus. (I would love it if it were Elijah, but I doubt the show runners love me that much.) Also, what about Tyler? Yes he was vamped by Klaus, but he was already a werewolf by birth. Perhaps the end of Klaus would only end the vampire part of Tyler? (Granted we know that wolves that were not turned properly died, but who is to say that the sire going away would mean their deaths?) I pity Rebecca but she also annoys me to no end. I would not care if she was the one who died. Kol irked me at first, but his last outing was better. I would vote to keep him, because he is an unknown. Why kill a character we know so little about? Finn was just a plot device so no big whoop. However, introing people just to kill them is just annoying. Are we going from red shirt hybrids to red shirt originals?

Re: The Vampire Diaries - Season 3 - Discussion
The best moment of last night's show was one final moment of bromance between Damon and Alaric before Alaric "died." For all the insanity of their relationship, Damon and Alaric really were BFFs. Can't Klaus burn mommy dearests corpse or something? Having that chick lying around is a hazard. Plus, she was a dull as dishwater what....villianess? I don't know if she counted as a big bad, but having just watched Mikael try to kill his children, watching her trying to do the same thing lacked oomph. (Also, how bad of an original hunter was Mikael if he never managed to kill even one of his kids in 1000 years?) So Bonnie has "activated" Esther's vampire killing machine. So I assume she know cares more for ridding the world of vampires than she does Caroline? She effectively signed Caroline's death warrant. Is Alaric only immortal in the sense that he will continue to exist until he has killed the last of Esther's children? Could one of the kids get a witch to undo their vamping and become human again? I say Tyler is going to die trying to kill Klaus or that maybe Alaric Vampire Hunter kills him on his road to killing all vamps, original and otherwise? When Klaus told Caroline she would come to him one day, I took it that she would if Tyler was out of the picture. Bonnie's new man looks old and there is no chem between them. Also, I find it creepy that he is her pseudo brother.

"This should make up 4 all the murder..."Sooo... Is this an excuse for Matt Davis to go off to his new show now? Isn't Klaus dead yet? I thought the big thing for the finale is that Elena chooses between the brothers. The Delena faction were salivating. Did she? |

Re: The Vampire Diaries - Season 3 - Discussion
I could tolerate the angst in the past because it was in small doses but this season it seems hooking up every character and have them complain about it has been pretty much the sole focus and has ruined the show In fact this tv season overall has been the absolute worst one ever in my opinion. Nothing worth a crap to watch. |

Re: The Vampire Diaries - Season 3 - Discussion
In related news, the CW is unhappy with their whole non-vampiric lineup and might take a meat cleaver to their existing shows. (The show about witches might survive for another season, on probation.) Matt Davis' new pilot Cult looks like a strong contender for pickup.
Here's hoping the new crop of shows do better next fall. NBC and the CW in particular are going to have to pick up a large number of pilots. Fox, too, but they have very little that looks interesting. |

Re: The Vampire Diaries - Season 3 - Discussion
I read the spoiler and it said she would choose a sibling....That to me screams she puts Jeremy's well-being over the Salvatores and tells them both to step. I could be completely wrong. They need to do something to grab me these last few eps or I will not be back for round 4. I like some of the actors but it is becoming such a trainwreck, not even staring at Elijah can keep me on the bus.

Re: The Vampire Diaries - Season 3 - Discussion
The whole spinning the wheels thing continues. Esther's dead but not dead. More body possessions and period high school dances. More casual underage drinking. More Klaus threatening to kill people _____ cares about. I wondered about the white oak stakes before. Just give Klaus fakes, what is he a goddamned wood expert? Doubt it. Since the holding spells work on Klaus why haven't they trapped that asshole somewhere? The good vs. evil struggle on the show is less about Klaus being clever than it is about the "good guys" screwing up constantly. |

Re: The Vampire Diaries - Season 3 - Discussion
I think they made Klaus too powerful and too bad. Then they tried to show us something/someone that Klaus feared and it fell flat because they burned through the threats too quickly. Then they tried to neuter him. I like Joseph Morgan as an actor but the show has ruined his character. There is no place for Klaus to go. I felt for the character when it was reavealed that Daddy not so dearest was hunting him, but then to have mommy come in the same season and try to do the same thing? Meh. Although Rebecca aggravates me, she is somewhat tolerable because you see how her need for acceptance drives her decisions. Klaus claims he wants family but then does everything possible to make sure that no one attends his b-day party. Elijah was and still is the Hoover of the family. His sole purpose seems to be running after his siblings with a pooper scooper. Kol was painted before his arrival as something of an implaccable psycho, but he has been given nothing to truly do. Elijan insinuated that Klaus should fear Kol being undaggered but Kol has run around like Klaus' errand boy. Bonnie is just plot any more. The poor woman only exists as a magical escape hatch. Caroline and Tyler work well together but having Tyler go away for so long took momentum from their story. Elena is just an idiot. Jeremy bless him is just dull. Matt's sole purpose at this point seems to be standard BFF. Need a distraction or a shoulder to cry on? Call the Quarterback. The Salvatores - Stefan should just date Dr. Fell as the actress is his real life wife. Damon ..... I don't know. They have killed his BFF and Elena is just.... Maybe they need to focus more on adventure and less on who is zooming who?

Re: The Vampire Diaries - Season 3 - Discussion
This stretch in the spring certainly pales to last season and S1. I'm still scratching my head as to why they got rid of Jeremy only to bringing him back--he is such a whining nuisance to have to watch on tv. I was definitely surprised by Klaus' dessication--I wonder if it sticks or he is revived next episode. This episode continues to underscore how the characters are just plot devices--hello Abby for what 30 seconds of screentime. I can't stand Damon anymore--he turns Abby into a vampire and doesn't show the slightest bit of regret with his snarky comments to her--I don't see what Elena sees in him other than a nice body which isn't much to develop a longterm relationship around. It is nice to have the old Stefan back but his redemption arc was poorly handled--it seemed his turnaround was more due to writer fiat than actual in-universe storytelling reasons. And they spent the better part of the season making a big deal about Tyler going through all this struggle to break his sire bond and I have to say the moment when he got to use that advantage it was rather anti-climatic. And please enough already with poor helpless fragile whiney needy damsel-in-distress Elena--it is sooooooooooooooooooooo boring. I'll probably watch the finale but I think the show is not going to have a creative renaissance in S4--but if tv is as bland as it is now I might tune in just to have something--if mediocre to watch. |
