I meant literally I-A, I-AA, II, etc. not the pros. For example, University of Buffalo would have to fight to stay in I-A or get replaced by Appalachian State.

Yeah, but it's not automatic based on their success that season - it's based on a whole bunch of factors including competitiveness, adequacy of facilities, and money.
